Oh blimey!  What a stunner.  Gary's guitar solo is marvelous.  The good doctor evoked Jon Lord.  The vocal is brilliant.  Marvelous.

It's taken me a while to get to this.  Been in the bin all week. 

These Rayon tracks do have a bit of prog to them, but it's not prog.  Heavy but not metal.  70ish sort of (but that is very wide range there, early 70s to late the music and tech changed so drastically so did the bands), Rush like (for sure like Ted said!). 

What you have here is musicians with interesting backgrounds and many music loves that are taking what has been put in over the years and making a wonderful amalgamation of sounds and styles.  I am sure someone could put a genre to this.  Have fun!

To me it just plain kicks ass.  That is the gage for me. 

Billy Greer, long time bassist and one of the vocalist (kind of the front man) for Kansas has a band called "Seventh Key".  They are excellent.  This reminds me of them.  Probably for the same reasons. 

at the end of it all it's just a song about a dude upset over his woman walking out of his life.  That is easy to miss in this barrage of sound.  The guys in the band however would be the type to help their bud get over it real, real quick...
