We had a water tank burst and put in a claim... so I did the obvious thing and rather than getting the repairs done up to standard I decided to spend some of the money on a new pedal  :)  like any self respecting member of SC would do!! I don't feel to bad as the good lady is treating herself to a running machine too.

Anyway I bought the Boss SY 200 as I always wanted a good synth pedal. It does sound pretty good so I think I will get my moneys worth from it (not that cheap (350e).

I gave it a test run on a track I had lying around for the last few weeks on my Mac. I added a bit more delay and gain in GarageBand which maybe wasn't a great idea but here it is anyway...

wow... I really am digging this Mike.  A new incredible element to your stable of sounds!  Man, this was a happy time this reminds me of.  Sort of 80's techno rock like The Fixx (which I dig btw) and lesser so the Flock of Seagulls (please don't get mad at that one!  weird but they were good)....
I really like that synth sound you got there Mike and so happy you could do it.  I kind of wouldn't mind having one but I am making myself learn a bit of keyboards.
this gets really happy toward the end... some great use of the new tool (toy)(whichever, both)

Love this a really catchy happy song .Excellent.
Pedal sounds great ,but it helps if there's a great guitar player behind it.
And you've worked your magic ,well done.

Melodic and charming. Yet i was still waiting for the vocals to appear. That warm Mike voice that makes everything better. Many times, the voice of reason. There's a touch of 90's, but also a lot of 80's to this track.

There are strong enough melodic themes to work as is, but as a whole i think this would benefit from the said Mike vocals :)

You're making great use of the pedal. Money well spent i'd say.

Thank God that water tank burst...  The acquired fun new toy led to great results!  (though I wonder what the solo would sound 'naturally' through a cranked Fender tube amp, hand wired custom shop, we can dream... if the jury were to award for 'pain and suffering' due to temporary loss of water...).  And Yes, we assume you will add an awesome MikeS vocal at some point.
