Neat guitar chords.  I try not to miss anything of yours because it's so different and Zappaesque. I can tell you listened to MUCH FZ in your time.  You would've been a great member of the Mothers.

There's an interesting contrast between the cool confidence of the jazz chords, and the distracted idleness of the lyrics and vocals. Talk about yer faisant des cercles dans l'eau.

Is it true? Are you infused with Zappa – or are you oddball by other routes? Johnbee's Zappa theory is interesting, because it would bring a new lens, so to speak, with which to view your music.

Coincidentally, I recently (just yesterday) found an insect-related song of my own that I abandoned years ago, and I've been mulling whether to revive it. Now I think you've pushed me off the fence about that.

Here is what happened regarding Zappa.  I went in the Navy after HS and after 2 years of school I got orders to my first submarine out of Groton, CT.  I was assigned a "sea dad" as they called them named John Sweet.  He was a strange but interesting dude.  He got me listening to Frank because he would quote his lyrics.  This guy was also into Scientology, the L Ron Hubbard stuff too.  Frank was too weird for most people but I found myself drawn too his zany, at times filthy, weird songs.  Stuff like "Give Me Your Dirty Love".  He kind of told stories about real things that people did they wouldn't admit.  The music was crazy.  So yes I heard alot of Zappa and I liked it.
In general though I grew up with all sorts of music.  Everything from Gospel to Black Sabbath so I would say that along with my quite different family (won't go into that) is why I have a wide range of music ideas.
Ted, I hope you do that song.  I think SC is defo a place that seems to appreciate unconventional approaches to music and recording.
Those who know me well would say I am definetely out there.  I have this spontaneity to me that kind of can be unpredictable.  However I do like to remind folks that it's not like I can't be conventional and team oriented and following rules etc.  I had a successful 20 year Navy career and so that tells that!  But I think there is a part of me that expresses rebellion to conventions in these other ways.

I don't really try and be weird.  It is just what I am.  I don't always live by convention.  So that comes out in everything I do I suppose.

thanks for your interest and comments all!
