"In einem traum" a Google Translate original by Geir and Jarle

Apologies in advance to all of those whose languages we abuse.

This is written by the two of us in Norwegian and translated mainly to English and German, but also bits to Finnish, Italian and Ukrainian.

Every word except the Norwegian is translated by google.

The song is inspired by the mountains where it's written and is also a cry for peace.

We share the vocal and acoustic guitar duties. I added some bass, kick drum and baglama and my brother added an old washboard.


P.S. we only speak some English and a bit German the rest is all thanks to google translate.

P.P.S. The lyrics came about by me starting off with 2 lines. The I showed the last line to my brother who wrote two more and then only showing the last to me. Then we continued this until the verse was done. The chorus we wrote together after reading the finished verse.

Bravo Geir! This was well done I can't speak for everybody, but at least those finnish parts were easily understood!(* In my ears most of the German lyrics worked ok and the same for the small bits in Italian.

The message in the lyrics is also universal so i think you put the Google fest into a good use.

(* The song i did in "Swedish" was mostly for the sound. I didn't bother even trying to pronounce all the words, or check how they're supposed to be pronounced. Some i knew, but the ones i didn't... I just goofballed it

Great to hear another one from the Alfsen brothers. Cool idea to have multiple language translations! Very nice mix of instruments, too - I can also hear the baglamas!

Really nice song and performances (and lyrics - the parts I could read...)!  Interesting choice to put in an array of multiple different languages.  Do you have an "original" version in just Norwegian - if you do, please post, I would love to hear that too!

This is sooo good guys! I love the idea for this festival and you guys really went all out here with the many languages present. I love the additional harmonies and mandolin too, the slow burn structure of the song is brilliant!
