So, I was thinking that if one is going to dabble around with song-writing, it might be a good idea sometime to do a song for the muse...

Thanks for listening,

Calliope by hooper

Who is this lost in the moment?
Wondering what you should do?
Looking around for no reason
Staring down at your shoes

Why should it feel any different?
Somehow you know she is near
A beautiful song in the garden
Almost too soft to hear...

Calliope there and the morning moon
Hanging over the water
Standing there, she doesn't care
For anything that you brought her

She's got glittering diamonds
Sunlight droplets of dew
Nothing to say, turning away
And then she calls out to you...

Innocence gone in an instant
A lingering song in the air
Watching smoke that the wind blows
Disappear to nowhere

Somewhere before the beginning
Circles around all the rings
There in the midst of emotion
That's where Calliope sings...

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

super recording and delivery... love the subtle angel voice or what ever that is toward the mist of the back.  your voice is steady, smooth, and warm...lovely job... and the guitar sounds amazing...then that flute... interesting theme as well...had to look that up...
my wife would love this.. I will play it for her.

Beautiful song, hooper. Your guitar and voice are so well-recorded, and the mix is perfectly balanced. Also, the pipes are very tastefully done (a calliope-modeled or inspired instrument, perhaps?).

I love the dynamics in this song. So calming. The voice, the arpeggios, the pads.

But those drum breaks (particularly the first one) are disorienting, like a warning shot, a sideways glance. They keep the listener on their toes, as if to say: This woman is mercurial. This lovely moment is fragile. Don't take it for granted. Those drum breaks speak volumes. Well played.

Very nice track, I really like the subtle production style, it really suits the laid back vibe of the tune with its gentle flow and vocal delivery. sweetly done. soothing and elegant.

Smooth as silk a beautiful ballad type song well suited for your vocal style as you sound very relaxed singing this

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away
