No Bonnie for Clyde (256) - Lurker & Blooby

Just wanted to rock after the esoterica of our last post. Planned on re-recording the main guitar due to some fizz from the Dark Matter distortion box and was going to replace the placeholder solo, but once I started mixing, it all seemed to jibe okay. John went rather dark with the lyrics. 'Nuff said there.

Thanks for listening.

No Bonnie for Clyde? I bet no Gainsbourg either?

Dark matter and dark lyrics go great together. I almost bought the Dark Matter distortion box myself. There was this one guy who was selling it really cheap. He was going to sell it to me, but things like sending it, getting the money etc. all proved to be troublesome. He would have probably inhaled the money, or something so i opted out from such a "bargain". THAT would have been a dark subject. Me going Charles Bronson over a few silly bucks... But mans gotta know his limitations.

That guitar solo... Is quite flashy. Bloody you're trying to make us (me) feel smaller? Do i really have to stop lifting weights and put more time playing three notes per string licks?

All kidding aside. I seem to have this garbage generator (aka the fingers that type, the brain that almost follows) going on hyperdrive so sorry for that :)

A great rocker. Pulls you in. Entertains. And ends with a bang. Cool stuff! I heard nothing wrong with the guitar sound, or the mix for that matter either.

Rock on!

I don't know where these lyrics came from. Is it a morality tale -- crime doesn't pay?

More likely, it's just looking for a story and a rhyme. No lessons. That's too much like work.

No Bonnie for Clyde

Me and you
We're on the run
We steal a kiss for luck
Then we pull out our guns
Don our masks
Bursting in fast
You run straight at the cashier
And I'm watching your back

You and I
On our thrill ride
Like Bonnie and Clyde
Run 'til we die

The cry of a babe
I turn to look
The hear the cashier fire
And I'm sprayed by blood
I swing my gun
No more cashier
I look back around for you
But you're not there

I hear you sigh
I find your eyes
They're losing their light
I'm watching you die

I stand and stare
Frozen in space
'Til siren sounds shake me
And I turn from your face
I run out the door
To I don't know where
Toss the mask and gun
As I embrace despair

You and I
The end of our ride
Forever denied
No Bonnie for Clyde

Like a movie that kills of a main character in the first scene. I want to know what happens next – or even what happened before; the events, desires, and bad decisions led these characters to this moment. Next installment please.

Cashier? Are we at a bank? A Denny's? An important decision for this story. What did Bonnie die for?

Quite the dark rocker. It hints at bigger story, like a Todd Snyder song.

This has a good 70's rock vibe too it,  great vocal and guitar playing also liked the drums on this, a little fizz a little fuzz is all good on rock tracks, adds to the rawness, Nice work on this

A little dark rock in the morning think I will have another cup and listen to this again on the studio monitors as this needs to be loud
Well done

The song was even better when I listened while reading the lyrics.. yes, as Ted said, begs for more story lines...even maybe from the cashier or whoever shot Bonnie's perspective.
the music rocks even more than I first thought, the rhythm structure is very Bad Company ish but that lead goes more Angus Young like... super stuff gents.. I really dig your band.  not that this matters really but your "band" is heard often by these ears, as you feature prominently on my play lists in my cars or while on the tread mill etc... thanks!
