She remembers so well that passionate night
She's known for a while that something isn't right
And pretty soon there's gonna be a fight
When mom and dad hear it's true
In the slipstream of childhood barely out of school
Flirting with the boy seemed way so cool
Now she feels used, abused and a fool
Where to go and what to do
She's on her own but thinking for two
She's gotta think for two.

Checking out the website 'youngmothers.com'
The test proving positive; her instincts spot on
So much to do now and such a lot on
World looking different; everything new
Reflections of shadows; echoes of whispers
Good old friends all keeping their distance
Baby's due just around Christmas
Where to go and what to do
She's on her own but thinking for two
She's gotta think for two

Her world will never ever be the same
Everybody's gonna wanna know the father's name
Here comes the inevitable shame
Only what a fool would do
The boy is a wash; rolls his eyes and stalls
Ignores her texts; won't answer her calls
He'd be a man if he just had the balls
The only decent thing to do
She's on her own but thinking for two
She's gotta think for two

Soon Ias I heard the steel drum intro - I thought this is gonna be a reggae track. Nicely played and as ever thoughtful lyrics on another failed relationship song. Where did ya get the steel drum sound - I don't have any?

Great story telling as I always love your lyrics and this one did not disappoint everyuthing in it place well mixed and playing is outstanding
Tim,
Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Lovely tune Ray. Great lyrics... I went to a mixed school and I remember one young girl had to leave as she became pregnant, for the shame of it as I recall. Lovely music and do like the breezy reggae feel.

You have gone all reggae on us that is cool, love the understated feel to this track, the tasteful licks and that chorus vocal is great really catchy, ideal song for sitting on the beach and listening too while sipping a rum and coke. Real nice Ray

Here we are talking about the reggae and drums, but people hear me out! Hear the humanity in the lyrics. The tenderness of the vocals. THAT's what makes this song.

Now after this self-serving part out of the way... REGGAE RAY! I like the sound of that.

Great songwriting. There doesn't seem to be a genre you're not comfortable with (well perhaps extreme metal, but what do i know? That might be what's coming next from the Rays factory of hits!).

guilty of ignorance!!! I M..... it's that old thing that strikes me... I get lost in the music, barely hearing the lyrics, barely caring.. the singing and lyrics lost in the totality of the muse!  But just reading these lyrics... wow... yeah... that is the deal...the real deal... as you said Zoltan...the humanity... yes...

Hi Ray, Very nice beat, and I am swaying to the loveliness of this song.
Both lyrics and melody are very original, and I am loving it.
Not to mention your exquisite vocals, and your ability to tell a story!!!
And I love the guitar solo.
Very well done.
