Working on a new album - 2 or 3 of the tracks I have uploaded will probably be on there. This is a "very likely" candidate.

Pain is a number
If you calibrate it so
Robert wants to rhumba
But he has no place to go
Frankie, he writes poetry
'cause he has nothing to fear
Charlotte wants to tango
But there ain't no music here

Down in the asylum
The lunatics run free
There ain't no future
Well, none that I can see
All the madmen run the show
Down in the asylum

Marcel is a rodent
he's a pet of Mr. Dee
He likes to chew the cables holding electricity
Tony's playing patience while he's watching the TV
Admiral DeLacey just pretends he's still at sea

Down in the asylum
The lunatics run free
There ain't no future
Well, none that I can see
All the madmen run the show
Down in the asylum

Peter thinks it's Tuesday, so he's glued against the wall
Patrick calls him crazy and then hangs him in the hall
Desmond's mind is elsewhere thinking things he can't recall
And Charlotte wants to tango, she just wants to have a ball

Down in the asylum
The lunatics run free
There ain't no future
Well, none that I can see
All the madmen run the show
There is nowhere you can go
Can you feel the cold wind blow?
All the madmen run the show
Down in the asylum

Oh yeah, lovely cool groove and the production is ace. I like those bass lines and the panned guitars works well. Nice break too at around 1:50 with that great guitar solo.

album or albumin doesn't matter... the song on it's own has it's own vibe and it's that dang good southern amalgamation thing you do...

i listened to this 3 times back to back and that lead at the 1:45 ish is so good I could almost swear it was Blooby playing so that is great...then at the end it goes back to that growly Molly Hatchet sound you get... that I dig in a major way.. then there is like this little swamp psychadelic thing with that little wah...
also liking the backing vocals and the deviant laughter... this is so good that it defies the subject...the story which is good enough on it's own..

The first thing that jumps out at me is the chord change to a minor in the chorus. That is real cool and unique. A great story, some fine guitar picking and vocal work Ron!

Hi Ron
The guitar riff is so beautiful, making me go crazy.
The vocals and there lyrics are very well done.
Great story telling!
Love this recording.

Blooby

I dig your voice. Has a Danny Joe Brown vibe in this tune (I expected a whistle). Lovely playing and production.

Hope to see the lyrics. I have a hard time discerning them because of my ragged hearing.
