Sometimes I wonder what we're fighting for
As money flies through the window, your love walks out the door
So money's tight; here's another night
But do we have to fight in front of the children?

The vows and the promises and the gold wedding rings
Can't hide contempt familiarity brings
We present a sight here on this night
But do we have to fight in front of the children?

So time is called on your insistence
Keep what you want; I'll keep my distance
Who cares tonight? Who's wrong or right?
But do we have to fight in front of the children?

this is another stellar song and recording Ray.  I am loving the depth of the instrumentation.  It sets a massive stage for the quiet and reflective and pleading vocal lines.  Spectacular...  I think you are about as good at this whole game as just about anyone on the planet!  Superb work Sir!!!

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

This was getting buried for no good reason. I've heard this several times now, but just noticed that i hadn't commented it yet.

The lyrics and the intent are at the heart of this song. Yet it's musically complex and always interesting. It's quite warm sounding recording with lots of depth. To my ears it's at times slightly crowded sounding mix wise, but it's might just be down to my "treble ears" and listening habits.

The playing is superb. The soloing near the end was a great surprise. I wasn't expecting that. There are always lots of layers in Rays compositions.

Once again Ray hits the spot.

Hi Ray,
Your songs addresses issues people need to talk about, and I love it.
Your vocals are great, and I really dig the guitar solo and the guitar track.
Very nice lyrics.

I know we are in the digital recording age and love the recording ease that brings, but this story and recording are sad yet as warm as analog. What I'm trying to say is it sounds like an analog recording and has unbelievable depth, fullness and clarity. It's like listening to a vinyl record without the scratches. Well done on all accounts Ray! How did you do that?

I write about failed relationships with rock and roll and anger. You write them with sadness and softer tones, although this little beauty has it's moments of power. Top notch work as usual Ray.
