I came up with this one after watching a tv programme on Gangs and gang culture. Was especially touched how easy it is for some young people to get drawn into a life of crime, some don't have a choice.
Anyway, thanks for listening.
Darren and Keith.

IS DAVY ALRIGHT ?

I left him running, I was dead upon my feet
I heard some angry voice shout out in the street
I saw the glint of a blade, i heard the shot of a gun
I found refuge in a safe house
But my brothers still on the run

Is Davy alright? is Davy alright?
He weren't up for the fight
Is Davy alright?

Now I haven't seen him, for 3 weeks or more
Is he still a running man, or is he running away no more
I keep my ear to the airwaves, my eye upon the ball
I found Jesus in a church house
But it don't give me no peace at all

Is Davy alright? is Davy alright?
He never started the fight
Is Davy alright?

Is Davy alright? is Davy alright?
He got lost in the night
Is Davy alright?

They found a broken body, washed up on the shore
Another grieving mother, buries her son once more
No it wasn't my brother, but it could be him next time
I've got to keep on searching
I know this mistake was mine

Is Davy alright, is Davy alright,
He never started the fight
Is Davy alright?
Is Davy alright ,is Davy alright
He's too young to die
Is Davy alright ?
Is Davy alright?

Powerful lyrics, Darren, and really strong imagery.  The music is just perfect for the story with edgy, unsettling chord choice.  Love this.

Ray Brookes

Great song, Darren supported by excellent arranging/production. Very significant social comment too in the lyrical content. That guitar work is stellar, mate and great vocals from Keith.

Ron D Bowes

Great intro. Good theme and cool vocals. Well, put together - ELO meets Bowie!

Top-notch tune, guys - vocals and guitars are superb. Getting a Bowie / Spiders vibe from this, and that's not a bad place to be at all.

That's quite a story and song guys! I too am getting an early Bowie style here and that is good by me. Super guitar and vocal work!

Trist

Timeless track from right the beginning with that cool guitar intro. excellent track, has that classic bowie mott the hoople feel. great vocals and lead guitar, enjoyed this one Darren and Keith. fun ending

Zoltan

I agree with Trist. This is certainly a timeless track and sound. Timeless yet very 70's.

The playing, the vocals... The whole shebang. It just oozes of comfort. The guitar solo in this one is also worthy of a mention. It's wicked wild and positively rocking!
