Money Don't Love Me

I's gunna make you love me
Can you feel me in your pocket?
Run me through your hands
That's the way, the world can change
The change is in your hands

(CHORUS)
You can paint the world black (Paint it red or paint it black)
But not as black as me...
I'm gunna make you love me...

Give me lots of money, stick a ten bob up my nose
For a dollar or two, you're the fool
I love money, but she don't love me

(CHORUS x2)
(LEAD GUITAR BREAK)
(CHORUS x4)

Do ya love money? Just like me
Cos' I been wipin' my ass...(I bin') wipin' my ass
(I bin') Wipin' my ass on your history
Don't want your culture, don't want your culture
Don't want your culture...just want... your....money!
(CHORUS x2)
Oh I'm?

Zoltan

I'm not sure what i just heard, or if i'm ready to process it yet. The lyrics are the easy part. The composition and the weird combination of different styles and influences make this BAT SHIT CRAZY!

There are moments of sheer 60's brilliance, yet the beats make this a whole lot modern. The backing vocals are cool and i like the melodic inventiveness of it all. Quirky and fun.

I like the song and the production, but after a while i felt like the drums were a tad distracting. They are clean cut and there's a nice contrast between them and the backing, but i think the song could sound a whole lot more organic as a whole if the drums were a bit more "saturated" sounding. Either a tape plug, of EQ cut (to high frequencies). BUT that's just how i would approach it (if i would catch it / hear it like that at that given day :D).

Wunderbar!

Thanks zoltan for listening and your advice on the drums. Yeah i wasn't sure if it would work, but i wanted to try something different, i have added a tape saturation slightly to improve it. thanks again.

First off congratulations on putting together and mixing a song that's totally different from anything I've heard before. The blend of styles and the chorus do bring forth a nostalgic vibe (Beatles) now then but for the most part it's different. I think it's the drums and singing style that pull it away from the mainstream sound which is not a bad thing at all. I like the lyrics and the overall sound. I need to hear a couple more times so my brain can catch up.

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Cool experimental track, Darren. Almost so far out there yet close enough to work. It's like a collision between Zappa and Beatles but essentially the production and imaginative writing is superlative; your creative skills are clearly on display here.

This site has some great songs right now on the latest and this is one of them.  The lyrics and vocals delivery are super.. and Zoltan is right, there is no gender, er genre for this song.  The music is aurally delicious 😋...kind of like biting into food you never ate before and it's so good but there is so much flavor you don't how to describe it...
I'm so dang fortunate to be on this site and hear music like this... I doubt there is another site like SC on the web...
And proof that home recording artists can make fantastic and highly creative songs.
Take a bow Darren and Keith...

Cool to hear some of your music again Darren! This is off the wall. The composition of mixing strange experimental musical structure interspersed with traditional vocal sections - is very Zappa!

Redler

I got very 60's vibe of this...with some tasty modern influences, works really well.

Brilliant job, guys!
