Hello, this is a demo from me (music) and mike leblanc (lyrics), sooner or later you'll hear it singed by the ASIAM band (me, mike, tim, marco and cecilia) but for now it's just me singing. It's called hobo soul ...

Hobo Soul

in the slow rockin' boxcar where he died
nobody witnessed nobody cried
he left everything he loved in his dreams deep and still
even the memories faded in the dawn's early chill

in his shirt pocket, was an old photograph
must have brought him tears and a few needed laughs
in his pants a pocket knife and a five dollar bill
which paid for a nameless cross up on Potters Hill

Now he's taking the silver spur
That leads up to Heaven
And watch it turn slowly into gold
Though a troubled life,    he lived
He kept on be-lieving
That there's a special place, for a hobo soul
God holds a place, for a ho-bo soul

Before, he died, he knew in his mind
his rails were a-running slowly, out of time
like a lonesome whistle, blowing in the wind
he faded like an echo, up around the bend

like a lonesome whistle, blowing in the wind
he faded like an echo, up around the bend

I love everything in this one. The lyrics are great. The vocals are filled with character. I can imagine the song being built into a full arrangement, but for me this would also work as a man & guitar -type of song.

The 3/4 works for this song. It doesn't sound like you're forcing the song to be in that time signature, but instead it's clearly something the song calls for. If i was going for this time signature i would just force it :D

Quality songwriting!

I love the instrumental solo in the middle.
The melody of the song is so nice, very refreshing.
The song is so full of hope, like a rainbow in the sky.
I love this production.
Well done!!!

Sounds to me like a great Kenny Rodgers song, I love it. And that solo is fabulous. Cool song.
Rock on!

Lovely song with great lyrics and a perfect plaintive presentation.

This is a really nice song you have written and those lyrics are very special. A very powerful tune indeed. Looking forward to that fuller version.

Great song, Max.  Fine lyrics and a beautiful guitar solo.  I also really liked the stripped back final section.

Great stuff my friend.

Amazing song for me... i love the theme of it.
I am sure I will dig the full blown version but it will be totally different.  Im learning that for many many people the simpler the music the better... this is great!

It's going to be hard to top this.

When the strings come in, it's magic and so unexpected in such a stripped-down song.
