This unremarkable and slightly irritating song only captured my attention because it was the first chart song to use a synthesiser (by all accounts, although seems unlikely to me) and it was Gorgio Moroder's first single / hit (albeit his version was in German and had different lyrics and title).

I'd never listened to the lyrics on the Chicory Tip version (why would you?), turns out they're really rubbish. Seems they'd mis-heard an English language version of the German song.

So whereas my previous song in this fest was treated with reverence and respect, this one I felt was more "up for it", if you get my gist.

This is another song I did the backer then realised was in the wrong key for my voice. It tried higher and lower octave versions, in the end went lower

Hi ODH,

Good choice on the lower octave.

I know when you saw Wig Wam Bam you guessed it would be me...same thing happened when I saw the title for this ...it's got to be Nick ODH. I'd spotted this song when going through the 1972 hits and fancied doing it but ruled it out as I couldn't play the synth parts. Cracking version and I love the Dickies style chorus.

I feel like I have heard this before... hell of a job here.. drums are great too... and you turned this really nice and punk too...
which alot of the 50's/60's stuff wasn't really far off punk imo...
killer lead guitar too.

Don't know this on e but such a phone post. Nice solo. I'm curious if recording the tempo shifts were a pain.

The tempo doesn't change, it's the bar count. Three beats per bar in the verse, two in the chorus. I use a step sequencer drum machine (DM-1) which is easy to do that stuff on.

This is a fun version! You're channeling your inner Moroder while punking it up.

I love this too. It's a fun throwaway piece of pop punk to my ears (before punk existed) and that's exactly why I like it. It makes me happy listening to this... you did a great job on everything.
