Hello guys I'm reviewing some jazz standards for a session with friends
Knowing that I'm not really a jazz guitarist :D  (I'm lacking in jazz guitar) well, as some people say, it is what it is

the first section is the well-known theme
the second section after a few bars conforms to the recorded version of take five, the rest is improvised, I was bored  >:(  to learn the whole second section note by note

Guitar telecaster with guitar amp simulation Jazz Amp for lead and chords
Bass and drums BIAB
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Hi Jean,
I always enjoy your recordings.
This classic is very well done.
Beautiful guitar rendition.
I love it.

I'm very familiar with the original and you've created a great version - sounds like jazz to me ! The Telecaster sounds good and you're improvisation really fits the tune well.

Stellar work JP, love this take on a classic. I really dig the tone on the lead guitar here, sounds so glorious playing that theme. Nice improv too... you certainly pass the jazzer test better than I do!

Sounds very nice - good work, nice guitar tone.  I have definitely heard the original (even though I'm not a jazz person) and definitely recognize the most famous theme.  Which jazz amp plugin did you use for the guitar?  As usual your band in the box sounds well programmed!

QuoteI'm not a jazz person
and me neither :) ...I have trouble getting out of the pentatonic scale ...

This piece is emblematic of the Dave Brubeck quartet I remember that when I was about fifteen years old we used to play it over and over again with my friends, in my village in Savoie
...it was before the rock n roll and Beatles boom

For the little story, Paul Desmond who composed the song thought it was good for the garbage, he gave all the copyright to the Red Cross ! which represented more than six million dollars in 2012  ???

The title comes from a pun on the English expression "take five", which can mean "five-minute break "1 or "fifth take (recording)". It underlines the five-beat rhythm (five quarter notes per bar, or 5/4 chosen for this piece), a rare rhythm in 1950s jazz, and in music in general. More simply, it designates this musical writing established on a five-beat rhythm.
QuoteAs usual your band in the box sounds well programmed!
.it's not me who did the programming, it's in the BIAB songbook..not easy to program in fact it is the assembly of a 3/4 bar and a 2/4 bar

QuoteWhich jazz amp plugin did you use for the guitar?
it's Guitar Rig 6 with the Roland jazz chorus amp simulation that they call Jazz Amp in GR
