Definitely a scary vibe from the whispered vocals and then going into some awesome guitar.

I'm getting to this late - and wow, what a cool, creepy song it is! Unsettling whispering and a very psychedelic guitar solo, with some really interesting buildup from spare uke and whispers to the more fleshed-out rock/psych arrangement.

I prefer the latest mix - a definite improvement in clarity compared to the original. More Spooky!

Well done, Ted.

Note: I have updated the Psychedelic Fest to the latest attached mp3 so it plays in the jukebox instead of the original mp3.

For anybody following along, the best way to update a festival track after uploading a new mix is to change the post's message icon to Festival Submission - to more easily get admin attention. 64Guitars or I will take it from there.

Good to know. I assumed that the MP3 in the first post got added to the jukebox automatically.

If anyone is curious how I recorded this, it got more complicated than you would think.

  • Imported the MP3 from my phone (vocals and uke) into GarageBand and set the tempo to 65 BPM – roughly the BPM of the music
  • Split the track into two sections with an 8-bar blank spot in the middle middle section
  • After the middle-8 the uke and vocals come in, and they had to be in time with the tempo in GarageBand. I pushed some notes around to get them to line up on the beats for about 4 measures until the drums drop off.
  • Exported just the timing-tweaked uke and voice track out of GarageBand and dropped it into my Micro BR
  • On the Micro BR I made two separate projects: One the voice and uke parts where I added the arpeggio/vibrato guitar, and another project just for the middle section (fuzz guitar, synth, and lead guitar)
  • Exported all of the new individual tracks as WAV files from both projects
  • Imported the tracks into GarageBand and did a rough mix, and then exported that mix (without drums) to a WAV file
  • Imported the WAV file of the rough mix into another new Micro BR project and recorded the bass – so the bass was the only part recorded as complete part – beginning, middle, end – in order
  • Exported the bass to a WAV file and imported it to the GarageBand project
  • Lined up everything on the rhythm bars, added a drum track, and mixed

Horrifying way to get kids to do their chores, I love it. Very cool stuff, gotta clean up some crumbs now.
Rock on!
