Transference.  Transference.  Master to apprentice.
When a man knows his time is short he begins to look at his collection.  His loves, the people he cares for the most.  Thinking constantly of friends he's held dear all his life, treasures in his heart.
Spirit of Manning, passed onto me.  His plain cockney, brings me to my knee's.  Like apprentice to master I receive.  The Spirit of Manning inside of me.
Something else though matters to him, his dreams, locked away in songs.  The one he wrote and no one cares to notice.
Selecting a younger one found with the passion.  Passing the torch of his song dreams.  Picking up the mantle of Manning.  Receiving the gift of that spirit.  Picking up the mantle of Manning.

This is based on a story a friend told me the other day.  I was very touched by the story, it is a powerful thing.  I took quite a bit of liberty however.
The idea here is transference.  That being spiritual energy passed from one to another.  Even though many people don't believe in this sort of thing for me there is too much personal evidence for me to deny it.  For those who may be inclined toward the bible there is evidence of it there as well.
anyway.... originally I started working on music to state my anger toward wood boring bee's and wasps that want to make nests in my porch... I had a lot of fun doing the guitars and the drums...
4 guitars Les paul, using the Zoom R24 effects fed into the Zoom L-20 for recording.  Recorded and mixed on the Zoom L-20.
I had 4 vocal tracks and ended up using them all with the best one up front and the other 3 as backing tracks panned a bit.

Fine backer and the lyrics fit nicely to the atmosphere of music.

Brilliant job on each way!

I think I needed something like this right now... I like the lyrics and the idea. There is some great riffing, played with energy and no fear and some scorching lead too.

Just back from my band rehearsal, it's late here and chilling out with a beer as I no longer have to get up early in the morning to go to work. I listened to this earlier today and just had another couple of listens now. Great use of panning, there's guitars and voices coming at me from all directions its fantastic ! I'd love to hear the full story that inspired you to write this song.

HI Stephen,
Excellent guitar on this track.
The guitar can actually come up in the mix.
Very nice vocals.

This is great! The lyrics are probably true... The rocking certainly is.

There's a hint of Rush and a smidgen of Pat Benatar with whole lot of man from the green trailer! This sounds like something i might have said before, but it's true. That drumming has Peart influence. The kind that makes me at first say "dude, calm down!" until it hits me. It's like a crash! (= bunch of rhinos).

You're riding the dragon while you're playing. Getting on the black horse and riding until it throws you off, or your buttcheeks are raw. It sounds like you're reaching those points that make it all worth while. That feeling of touching the infinity.

Hey Stephen, great idea for a song. I try to keep an open mind about those things. Great music, love the guitars and the drums. Some tasty riffs..Has that 70's rock sound, love your vocals.
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
