If this were evil it would be level wicked but since it is righteous... I say RIGHTEOUS!!!! TO THE MAX!!!!

This is a Wonder of a cover!  I used to have this 8 track ... the whole thing was mag!  Killer work sir!  Hats off.

has a Bowie "Fame" feel too....

You really got into the groove here Pete. This had me nodding my head along here and tapping my foot to that infectious rhythm.

It's funny though, I kind of have the opposite problem as to whether to record using a BR or a DAW. Well I don't even have a BR to be honest but I have often thought of getting one, but the fear of using it has kept me recording on an iMac.

Back to the song... cracking stuff Pete, really enjoyed that!

Awesome job replicating the classic clavinet keyboard part with guitar - is that an "auto wah" effect?  I read about this song that Stevie Wonder, besides the clavinet, also played the drums and Moog Bass on the track.

He certainly had it didn't he Doug?  Dude has massive musical spirit... massive... can you imagine what he made that the public never got to hear?

Mr. Collins, you do the coolest covers!  This rocks... I would dig hearing this in a club, pub, whatever...

Yes, it's auto-wah...the FunkWah patch on the BR800.

Quote from: Pete C on April 25, 2022, 08:22:44 AMI find the BR simpler to use and the main benefit to me is having the built-in drum machine.

That's the thing – the drum machine – that newer stand-alone units are missing. I got a little excited about the Zoom R20 until I watched a video demoing the drum features, which seem more limited than even the Micro BR.

Roland Zentracker software might be a reasonable option. I installed it on my tablet, but still need to try it.

But I still looking back to the BR 800 as maybe what I want, even though it's kind of old now.

Nice groove, Pete. It's a great song and I like your version.
