Another demo from the As I Am band we've been working on. This one is my music and lyric, but with gorgeous additions from Max, Caecilia and Marco. I'm on acoustic guitar, Max is on electric guitar and bass, Caecilia is on piano, Marco is on drums, and we're all on vocals.

whisky time
rolls round sooner each day
i walk the line
in this cursed scottish play
the permafrost of winter
keeps on nipping at my toes
on the island of the dead
but that's just the way it goes

betting on the castle to fall again
betting on the castle to fall again

i don't do 'optimistic'
and i won't say what you want me to say

whisky nights
leave you sleeping thru the day
the work dried up
and the money flows away
the permafrost of winter
is breathing on the pane
and i'm staring at the fire
all the hula girls of flame

betting on the castle to fall again
betting on the castle to fall again

i don't do 'optimistic'
and i won't say what you want me to say

You got me at "Whiskey time". It's a strong image... Like the lyrics that follow. Although i have to confess that i'm a failed drunk. I fail to drink more than one serving. This works.

That line "Betting on a castle" is the real winner here. The vocals are gentle and the whole song has this air of tenderness to it. The lyrics are understanding rather than preachy which makes this special.

Cool playing and vibey riffing. You've got a great band going!

listening without read of lyrics reveals yet again an obvious yet overlooked fact (at least in my case), that being you are a fantastic singer.  Excellent diction is only a small part of it.

well done to all!  I enjoyed the lyrics as well... they tell a truth few like to admit!  Powerful.
catchy song...very catchy

Fabulous guys, I had a couple of whiskys last night but was still able to play badminton for two hours this morning lol.
A great lyric Tim conjures up so much to me, brexit Britain mixed with some green autobiograpky, but i could be well off the mark with that.

Great job by all loving the chorus a definite hook line
Bravo Tim
Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

First off, I love the lines "Betting on the castle to fall again and the hula girls of flame". They are very descriptive and thought provoking. You always present the lyrics well with your good vocals, Tim. The acoustic guitar, electric and the piano all fit well together and the harmonies add the sweetness!

Another great song. Excellent production skills and stellar vocal work. Got a kind of late Lennon vibe maybe. Lovely chord changes and those lyrics are brill as always. Great work, Tim

The musicianship is excellent, and the harmonies are lovely
Maybe you could bring Max up a tad in the verse.

But overall, it sounds good to me

Fantastic work you guys!
The vocals are great, very clear.
The instruments are perfectly mixed, and you are not in competition with each other, totally in harmony!!!
Thanks for sharing.
