Your hard and shiny smile's like a bathroom tile
As you sit and ponder my faults
I won't dance your tango or light fandango
Your foxtrot, quickstep or waltz
That reputation proceeded you
Those losers who thought they needed you
And you think it was me who cheated you
What a joke; is that all you've got?
So go ahead take your best shot

What a tough place that barren space
Where your heart beats out of time
Seems wherever you walk there's an outline in chalk
Like a perpetual scene of the crime
So predictable I could map you on a graph
I get treated like I'm one of your staff
Maybe one day we'll look back and laugh
But then again maybe not
Just go ahead and take your best shot.

Just a roll of the dices and every little crisis
Call for the crash cart and doctors
"Clear! Clear! We got the paddles here!'
But mutual contempt shocked us
One day you're a saint then a sinner
Your values are all getting thinner
You ordering take out yet again for dinner
As I listen to your junk food plots
Just go ahead and take your best shot.

Hi Ray,
Super guitar playing.
And your vocals fit this song perfectly.
I love the words "Take it!"
The piano is excellent, but I still choose the guitar (I am biased).
This is truly a beautiful song.  I love it.
Respectfully,
Rene

Such a great funky, latin groove. Shades of Santana, but with Clapton on lead guitar (it's more like his tone and style to my ears). It's an outstanding and very cool track. As always, beautifully performed and produced like a pro.

Someone has put on his groove shoes on! The playing is high as a kite and sharp as a thylazine.

The playing has hints of Clapton, but feels a lot more playful. The track is filled with melodic hooks, and cool playing. The vocals are vibey, but in this case it's the playing performances that really take the center stage.

A real aural delight with so many sounds and licks that it could be used as an example on how to do things right!

Somewhere in the distance i can hear kookaburras laughing. Cool beans!
