Unbelievable Guitarist II - Jack Pearson

A while back, I posted a link to Steve Kimock, one of my favorite guitarists.  I thought I'd try again with Jack Pearson, a Nashville guitarist, who fronts his own band.  He also served a two-year stint or so in the Allman Brothers.  He is equally at home playing a swampy blues, scorching "Whipping Post," or playing straight jazz.  The following is a video from the Gibson guitar site.  There are five total with him if you are interested in seeking out more.  He is just ridiculously good.

Peace.

Oh! Amazing!

Great jazz-blues playing!
If you loose track over a chord progression, play as fast as you possibly can. Nobody will know. Thats how they invented bebop.

Flippin great guitar playing!!  Reminds me of Joe Pass, but even better!!

Digg that fancy chord solo work - nice change ups too!!

So smooth - I wish I could play like this!!  If I could only make my Les Paul sound like this!!

I still love this......

It is the only thing that keeps me going in playing guitar......

That I may one day understand the concept behind this....

The Scales behind Mr Pearson will send me well along the way though Blooby!

Thanks for Posting this! ;D

Peace

As For Tuning only God knows...... And Mckee......

Isn't it just a normal Capo which is put on Half the strings........?

He does a version of Africa By Toto, all on the one Guitar as well!

Just found this noodly solo by Jack. Not a whole lot of harmonic content going on behind him, but damnation, he is good.

Thanks for this name.
I like his switching back and forth between the 4/4 and shuffle rhythms both full and half time. Reminds me of a modern Robert Johnson. (The first recorded evidence of this technique as far as I know)

Still can't get enough of this guy.  Here he is reworking one his own tunes on the spot. The comping kills me.  I put a version of the tune below how it is normally performed.
