So, New banjo means new chord shapes and I like to learn fast. I'm challenging myself to record the entire 1st Hall & Oates album with banjo as the main instrument, I'm calling it Whole Hook. I have far too much on my plate but I'm gonna give it a try. HB Tenor Banjo, Ibanez Acoustic/electric bass & Roland Handsonic 10 drums.
1 Tenor banjo/vox (stereo)
1 drum set(stereo)
1 aux percusssion(stereo)
1 bass

Don't know the original but this sounds good to me.. you're certainly learning that banjo fast. Never realised Hall & Oates went back as far as 1972 as I only became aware of them in 1982 with "I can't go for that". Unfortunately they were never as big in the UK.

Very brave, lol. I wondered how you were going to deal with the falsetto bits, but you do it beautifully. Weirdly, there is already a folky vibe to that album, so these stripped-back arrangements won't be totally removed from the core. I am loving that banjo sound big-time. What a great cover and performance.

Nice falsetto notes.
You are certainly mastering your new instrument.
I loved hall and oats.
One of my all time favourites was out of touch.
Brilliant performance as always.

Great work on the band, and the instrumentation.
Excellent choice of song.
Love this.

Top class Hook. I don't know the original. I didn't realise they went back that far either. Sounds like they had more in their armory than just the catchy tunes from the eighties, I might check them out a bit more. Super stuff though. Feels like you just dived into this, rolled your sleeves up and went for it. Sounds great. I love the acoustic/electric bass sound too.

I'm glad that I came to this last, of all of the tracks this is the fullest sounding, beautifully mixed and an outstanding vocal again. It moves really well.

Bravo on the Whole Whole Hook Oats. Impressive and I've enjoyed the Whole Oaty thing.
