Here's Stuck in the Middle With You as if performed by Prince & Ray Parker Jr. It's still missing the solo part...

90% of the sounds were done with Korg Ms-20 mini. The drums are a combination of one shot samples and Korg MS-20 sounds.

Great cover ! You've very much got your own style, which I like a lot, which makes your covers interesting and enjoyable. My band in the early 2000's used to do a version of this but your techno/synthy take is really good.

I like your techno version of this folk-rocker! I was thinking about doing this one for the fest but I couldn't come with any idea that was near as original as this. Well done!

Sorry for bumping my own! I did a quick test with additional guitars (2 clean rh guitars + a bluffed solo that went nowhere... fast :D)) and i wanted to upload it for comparison whether i'd better take it into this direction...

I don't know why, but the laziness that comes with these sloppy guitars makes me think of John Hughes 80's comedies like the Great Outdoors (1988). There's that kind of slightly warmer vibe.

I couldn't agree more. I've been wrestling with this notion lately.

This makes me nostalgic as I can remember listening to this with my single speaker AM radio under my pillow. Great tune and you do a killer job while putting your own spin on this.

Kudos.

The guitars add an excellent ingredient of familiarity and groove. Really, really love that fuzzy, nasty synth part on the bridge. This is excellent - the Scissor Sisters (who this reminds me of) made a whole career out of it! But the fade out came too soon - I wanted more, more, more! Brilliant.

major coolness points here... besides loving it all.... the guitar gives it a Talking Heads feel... which is always way cool

seems to me that you are always expanding your horizons musically and trying new things and it's always great.... what an arsenal...if you were a nation would be a superpower

that lead is cool too and really adds interest to the track...it was good without it though

I like your innovation and you are super good too

Brilliant idea! Cover a very 70s folk sounding song in a very un70s folk way :). I really like both versions but I think I like the sterile sound of the guitarless first one more personally. The synths sound great and the drum machine sounds straight from the early 80's. The vocals have a good slavering of post-millennial irony (ala Ariel Pink) ;).

Great version. I love the synthy bass and the overall arrangement Kind of reminded me of another 1972 song, Son of my Father by Chickory Tip.

I've been thinking lately about doing 1972 songs in different styles rather than obsessively replicating the original.  This is spurring me on.
