Out of Time (Farrell Jackson © 02-28-22)
1. We started off the world as our oyster.
Without a worry and no end in sight.
We are just the caretakers of time. Standing on the borderline
(Chr) We might have made better choices. No one gets out alive
A fast pace at the start. Sooner or later, we run low on gas
Then comes the day when we all...run out of time.
(2.) Beat the clock is the name of the game. Along this path with too many perils
Once in a while we see some fame. But it's just a fleeting moment of gain
(Chr) If we burn some sage. We've still got our minds
Just like the gilded age. Sooner or later, we run out of gas
Then comes the day when we all...run out of time.
(Gary and DrC solos)
(Repeat V1) We started off the world as our oyster.
Without a worry and no end in sight
We are just the caretakers of time. Standing on the borderline
(Chr) If we burn some sage. We've still got our minds
Just like the gilded age. Sooner or later we run out of gas
Then comes the day when we all...run out of time.

   All that I need
Is just a piece of paper
To say a few lines
Make up my mind
So she can read it later

yeah this is superb as Andy said....

love it all...and i will hear it again...this goes into alot of directions even more than just prog, classic rock etc...it actually dables into metal a bit and 60's psych.... so as Zoltan says its like all the musical influences were put in a blender and here it comes... big sounds...big riffs...lovely mix... and lots of interesting surprises throughout

Brilliant perfomances by all 3 of you ! I'm getting a bit of Carry On Wayward Son in the intro and some of the riffs, but that's not a bad thing ! Fantastic !

Another great track from you guys. The instrumentation is first class and excellent vocals from you, Farrell. I think Gary is a wizard with that drum programming and certainly an accomplished guitarist. I also like the way the keyboards string the whole package together. Stellar stuff, guys.

Bugger, this is good. I am just loving everything Rayon Vert is posting. This one is especially dear as it sounds almost like a Ty Tabor-sung King's X song in spots.

Just f'ing floored (again).

Zoltan

I came here to hear out of time playing, but you didn't even struggle! A bummer for failed expectations, but a joy for ears. The playing is cool and there's a great 70's vibe to the sounds and songwriting. The backing vocals are delicate and poppy. Nicely complimenting the main vocs. The guitar riffs are down to the point. The drums are.... what the heck i'm writing here?! You clearly got your act together.

And that SOLO... I'll start with F and end with K. The call & response stuff with the guitar and organs are an eargasm. The drum programming is superb. Yes you sound good and you know it! One of the best songs i've heard in a long while. Hits all the spots songwriting & performance wise.

The bottom end on headphones really packs a wallop - fantastic! Love how tight everything is and the whole vibe of it. Some stunning melodic touches and the guitar solos with the 'Spanish' notes trading with the proggy keyboard solos are wondrous! That later, softer solo is also fantastic. Outstanding stuff. This a seriously good band.

Supreme! Shades of prog rock here, but also power pop. I love the descending verses (which the vocals fit PERFECTLY over might I add) and the guitar work throughout the whole track is stellar. I love the addition of organ here too, really adds to the classic vibe. I think this might be my favourite Rayon Vert song I've heard so far. Rock on, my dudes!
