what I lack in talent I make up for in enthusiasm.  This is a rockin 4 chord song with my favorite sort of guitar sounds.  The song was built from bass up.  I used no tempo control..  I seem to do pretty good this way using bass or drums but not the guitar.  Guitar my tempo goes all over.
I made up this bass riff I liked and added just on board effects.  The bass was  straight DI into the Zoom L-20 with nothing in the chain from the bass to the board.  Then I did the drums.  I decided I wanted to try doing a single guitar track kind of like what I would have to do as the only guitar player in a  3 piece band.  I tried to do rhythm and lead and all the way through.  I admit I played this at least 30 times and kept 3 takes.  I ended up liking them all too much so I panned two of them left and right at lower volume and then kept the last one centered and as the front piece.  I kind of had an idea of lyrics as I was listening along....  vocally this was a big challenge and I would never keep them except I don't really care that much anymore... I like to sing so that is good enough reason.  If someone happens to like them all the better but at least I  put my heart into it!  That I can hear here...
thanks for listening and commenting...

Yes you are! Unstoppable that is :) There's no lack of talent and i agree with the enthusiasm part. It always sounds like you're on fire and that's the way to be! Cool riffing and quite clear sound picture in this one. The guitars have more impact when they have more space around for them to breath. The phrase "i used no tempo control" sounds like an accident waiting to happen :D But somehow you manage to avoid the "hindenburg"!

Cool song.

Yep the "no tempo control" had me laughing.

What's weird is that me listening - as a guitarist - hears the bass and the drummer to be the guys not quite on the same page, NOT the guitarists. Have a think about that when you're playing the parts next time you try this way, you might be able to get everyone even closer. I dunno, think like a guitarist when playing drums, drummer when playing guitars, that sort of thing.

I'd LOVE to be able to do "ensemble" pieces, me playing all the instruments, where there is no tempo control - but I'd have to learn to play drums first, and when hitting stuff, I have NO SENSE OF RHYTHM at all!

Anyways, another cool track out of apparent chaos. Personally, there's no way I could embrace or encourage chaos in what I do. I just couldn't feel comfortable doing it. But I can hear how you're using it to your advantage. I think it's partly what's putting the "on fire" vibe in your sounds.

Brilliant.  I wouldn't dare to stand in your way, Stephen!

Great track, Stephen and your creative juices are unstoppable. Always something different from you but as always I love that guitar sound you have over there. Sometimes that 'no tempo control' works better as it gives a more natural feel IMO.

I like it.  I think your voice and this track would do well with insane over-compression and some kind of vocal tube preamp distortion.

You sound more vocally comitted to the vocals at the end than at the beginning, which works in the context of the song.

I didn't notice the tempo wobbling much, it seems to flow organically but not too wild.
