48 inspired a bunch of us to do another blues collab over a rocky backer. So on this track we have:

1. 48
2. 0jimihendrix0
3. SdC
4. Kody
5. Satchwood
6. Bluesberry
Guest artist - Horny Harold
7. Geir
8. Ferryman

This was created by having everyone record their tracks in their nominated slot, master them without the backer and send the tracks to me. I then mixed all the individual tracks together over the backer. But of course there was a bit of confusion, so you'll hear Kody come in a bar late and Geir miscounted the start of his slot, leaving a gap between him and Bluesberry. So I asked Horny Harold to step up and fill the gap as a guest artiste, which he did somewhat feebly as it was very late at night and he's a bit rusty!

Anyway, get ready for sharp edged blues from 48, hot young licks from 0jimi, double stop heaven from SdC, Kody and Satchwood both absolutely shredding the fretboard, Bluesberry stirring up a hot wahsberry jam, Geir on slide and me with Van Halen meets Chuck Berry.

BTW, I had to master the mp3 at 64K so I hope the quality is ok. Enjoy!

Nigel

UPDATE: I have screwed up. I wanted to add the new version with Kody's new solo so I deleted the original mp3. But it appears I cannot add an mp3 back without starting a new thread, so I will have to do that. The mp3 is now here:

Yes!!! That was the wildest blues session I ever heard!! The only thing missing - a few whammy divebombs!  :D

Exciting and very fun to listen to. Thanks to 48's dedication to the blues, this post was started, and excellent job on the engineering Nigel!

Definitely a bossbr.net supergroup collab!! Well worth the wait.

Glad you all like it! It does indeed ROCK. The method of putting it all together was a bit confusing for everyone at first but it allowed us to keep the quality of the recording very strong. This was great fun, and it is so interesting to see so many different styles here. The proudction was actually quite straightforward once everyone got their parts worked out.

I'm sure we'll be doing more in future!

Cheers,

Nigel

And yet it flows really nicely, all the different styles flow into each other really well, there is no jarring moments.  Your kaosillator fits in really nice to cool everything down before the grand finale.  It really sounds good to me, I keep listening and listening...

Me too. The interesting thing is that no one heard anyone else's parts as we were doing this, yet they all fit together so well without anyone sounding the same. I guess Kody and Satchwood have some similarity in the way they both tear up and down the fretboard but they sit so well together. I keep appreciataing more everytime I listen to this. There's some great skills on display here.

Glad you like Horny Harold. I couldn't use the trumpet sound because that is too "precise" in that it's hard to do trills and slides, especially against a fast track, so I went with what is supposed to be a sax.

BTW, it's also fun to listen to these "naked" as it were and hear all the little bings and bumps while folks are getting ready to solo. They don't come across in the final track but I know they're there  :D

Cheers,

Nigel
