Here's Rayon Vert's latest song called Siren of the Sea. A slightly proggish song with hints of Yes and Gentle Giant (at least that's what I hear :)).
Credits:
Gary Carciello - original music idea, all guitars, drum programming and mixing/mastering.
Rob Grant - Bass.
Doctor C - all keyboards.
Farrell Jackson - all vocals, melody idea and lyric

Intro...da das...
(V1) I looked out on the horizon and someone's calling me
A distant, haunting sound...that whispers in my ear
All I see are the misty waves singing and dancing about
But she glides across the spray in a faint silhouette
(Chr) Ohhh ohhh, Siren of the sea
Ahhh Ahhh, I have to believe
(V2) What is this spirited, figment wanting of me?
Could it be she's trying to escape her seaweed bonds?
Then from the depths she calls, I hear it from head to toe
Resist and fight as I might, I'm pulled into her quest
(Chr) Ohhh ohhh, Siren of the sea
Ahhh Ahhh, I have to believe
Ohhh ohhh, Siren of the sea
Ahhh Ahhh, please set her free
(Gary and DrC solos)
(V3) As my courage mounted, I defied all human logic
To risk the wrath of the water gods as I called to set her free
The winds blew, the oceans stormed and tossed ships about
Then from the water a spout arose and spued the Siren out
(Chr repeat 2xs) Ohhh ohhh, Siren of the sea...Ahhh Ahhh I had to believe
Ohhh ohhh, Siren of the sea...Ahhh Ahhh...she was set free...

WOW! I was not expecting that when the intro finished. Fantastic production, Farrell matched by stellar instrumentation (that guitar work blows me away) Who is programming the drums or are they actually real? Excellent vocal too and cool lyrics. I can definitely hear a Yes influence; even the guitar solos remind me of Steve Howe. Great work, guys; well done.

Thanks! I use XLN Audio Addictive Drums 2 in drum programming.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Blimey, this is fab. Great ideas and performance throughout. Love the extended middle section. Great tones as well. I hear some Gentle Giant as well. Just listened to an extended interview with Derek Shulman yesterday as fate would have it.

Oh fabulous!!

I'm with the Bloobster: I was getting hints of Gentle Giant
(But that's mainly cos I know next to nothing about Yes, Asia, King Crimson, etc... but I DO know about Gentle Giant ;D)
I was also hearing the odd Jethro Tulliness

BUT! Whatever, this is fabulous in its own right. Sounds and feels SO good.

Guys, you are doing some amazing stuff.

You've got a great band going there !  I'm no prog rock expert but it's certainly got that sort of vibe. Loved the middle section.. very accomplished playing !
