Ring that freedom bell all thee who's survived
Remember this time well. It's 1945

Bang that freedom gong enduring brother of mine
The wall is down and gone; it's 1989

Evil in the breeze
Holy men down on their knees
Evil at your door
Same as it ever was before.

Blow that freedom horn and strike up the resistance
Another tyrant born somewhere way off in the distance.

Evil getting close
Overfed and over-dosed
Evil at your door
Same as it ever was before.

I love that intro Ray with the acoustic guitar, and wow that was just the beginning, your music is always a treat to listen to. Makes me wish I was as good lol. Some really impressive playing and lyrics and vocals.  The theme of the song is ringing true at the moment especially with what's happening in Ukraine.
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

I am tempted to evoke the name that I revere above all names....Jesus Christ !!! Man alive Ray this is beyond great.  The only thing I can do here is bow down low to acknowledge the greatness of this song..
the acoustic guitar is some of the best that I have heard.  Reminds me of America, CSNY, and maybe some of the old Heart and Zep stuff...all combined.  There is so much great sound in the guitar...wow

I could get lost in that alone but since I had already read the lyrical content I was absorbed just from there.  I love the way you built this to a crescendo (I have heard that before in your songs but this exceeds your previous greatness imo)...
I am floored at how good this is.  And then there is that ride...that ride....that ride...ohhhhhhhh

Tastefully somber, just what we need at these times of uncertainty for Ukraine and the world. The allusions to the end of WW2 and the fall of the Berlin Wall are very fitting. We often forget that the next major phase of tyranny in Europe may be just around the corner and this is the closest it's been in a LONG time.

Once again Ray, you show yourself to be a master of both musicianship and production. The acoustic guitar is wonderful here and it leads the track onwards. Vocals are perfect and the instrumentation is very well put together. Another knockout!

This is outstanding .
Another tyrant born somewhere way off in the distance.I love that lline and oh so true.
They say we live in a democracy but we can vote one madman in that could change the face of the world.
Really excellent performance, the lead guitar has shades of pink floyd.

That opening is just so very Stephen Stills (a favorite). Poignant lyrics wrapped up in a great song. That droney synth (I think) works to great effect, and that middle section is just perfect. Be proud of this one.

Very fine post.

Whoa. Powerful stuff.

Love the sounds. Some of those guitar parts are sublime.
The bass is pretty darned cool too.
And it's all blended together so well.

And what a song.

Yep, nice one, very nice one.
