exporting without mastering

hi everyone so im new to this site and using the micro br so please forgive any noobish questions...I did some recording last night for the first time on my micro br, it was just a jam session with a buddy of mine that lasted for a few hours...anyways we recorded some of it and i want to export it so i can edit the tracks on cubase and add other instruments...but since the jam session that i recorded was so long i cant master and export it....i was wondering if there is a way to just export the file without mastering

Yes there is. Keep in mind that exporting a very large file can be a pain so it may be best to do it in pieces, but that's up to you. With your song loaded and while in standard recording mode, press UTILITY > TRACK > EXPort and follow the instructions from there (MP3/WAVE? etc...)

Likewise, you can cut it up first using UTILITY > TRACK > CUT or COPY > and PASTE into a seperate Vtrack. And then EXPort just that part if you like. This is how i record my band rehearsals. I record the whole session onto one song, and then cut it up into individual songs and either Export or Master to MP3.

hewhoiscalledj is right---unless your SD card is just too damn full to do any additional exporting, track copying, or anything, you may need to use Roland's BR Wave Converter software.

I've personally never used the software... But, my understanding is that you can connect the Micro BR to your computer and convert your raw tracks to WAV files.

There are versions for Win Me, XP Home, XP Professional, 2000 Professional, and Mac OS X.

i keep meaning to try that Wave Converter... i've gotten pretty good and efficient with the tiny button pushing though so it's not too bad. the more i use the computer, the more i realize i hate the computer, but that's just me. it's why i gave up the IT/computer biz years ago.

I hate computers, too! Too bad that's what bakes my bread. Can't believe I stopped working in the woods for that crap. One day I'll just fish, hunt and camp out with rudimentary recording equipment (Like most of us have now!! :D)

The wave converter is an awesome tool if you have a computer - Use it if you can. It answers so many questions that I see on this forum. I have only used it for live recording, as all of you have been speaking about, so I thought I'd make some noise about it. It's really the best thing for performing operations that would exceed the limitations of the memory card.

Otherwise, stick with the brick!!
