Just what this thing is for Bob! Great first recording!

Thanks.  Admittedly, that one was a bit self indulgent.  I have plenty of experience with 4-track recording where bouncing was done only as a last resort.  Because of that experience, everything I record is well thought out, well in advance.  So it's fun to be able to bounce things around digitally with no generational degradation.  And record multiple takes without the worry of needing to dump one just to make space.

I'm about done with my second recording which features layered guitars, a real bass, and about 8 hours of drum programming.  Minimal preset drum tracks were used, and the results ore astounding, to me anyway.  And because of my 4-track experience, everything is done meticulously and the resultant song is all the better for it.

Hope to finish this one tonight.  I completely re-wrote the lyrics for this one, as the original lyric seemed weak and not really fitting of this song.

Very cool guitar playing, maybe a tad much with the layering, but who am I to say, I layer like crazy and build my songs up quite a bit if the mood strikes me.   Al in all, very good playing, I look forward to your next song Bob.

It's a little over the top as far as the "wanking" as we sometimes call the lead guitar noodling.  There actually isn't much layering at all: one guitar panned right, one acoustic (simulated) guitar panned left, bass (again, simulated) panned dead center, and the lead guitar track.  I borrowed the BR-600 from a friend, and was just putting it through its paces to learn the ins and outs.

Next song has much more layering, but sounds way better than this initial offering.  Hopefully, I'll be able to finish it up tonight.

Thanks for the comments.

Sounds pretty good to me - good guitar workout, but you got a good sound. Your experience shows through if this is just you "learning"!

Cheers,

Great first post....
I can hear you are an accomplished musician lets hear more

Ferryman - Thanks.  I have plenty of 4-track analog recording experience.  So that helps immensely for planning out the recording process.  Being able to bounce without signal degeneration is a godsend.

48 - You're the first person to call me an "accomplished musician."  It means a lot.  Thanks.

I've just heard this after Don't Worry For Me and I think I've got it right ... Guitar is your forte.

Great playing bud, and not a bad 1st attempt.
I migrated to the BR600 from a Zoom PS-04, and have found the luxury of more tracks before the inevitable bounce a relative joy!!
