Geez this was a tough one to finish. It started with a little finger picking thing i came up with on Christmas eve. There's some numbers in the verse.
I used my breedlove acoustic and my seagull 12 string with my old hardtail strat direct with Amplitube. Piano on my yamaha/UVI plugin. I actually performed
the drums on my SPD30 triggering EZ Drummer kit. BBC string section and oboe

Somewhere Down The Line
Moments  are fleeting
just morsels of time
Follow your heart while it's still beating
There's No such thing as past your prime
The first try was unstable
And I had to sell the farm
The second time was feeble
But now the third time is the charm
Why'd you sell me down the river
Why'd you hang me out dry
I must admit it's so much better
Now that we're somewhere down the line
No time to worry bout it later
Kick the can right down the road
Father Time. He won't forget you
Your gonna pay him what he's owed
Held out for something better
Was looking for a sign
Get back up and get it
Now we're somewhere down the line

man o man...those finger picked guitars in the r and l speakers are so good...
then the electric fuzz kicked in... has a really good southern rock vibe to it...but it's more than that too...almost like CSN and Y infiltrated with Lynard Skynard...
really good progressions and transitions...and your bass playing has that feel I saw in person that day... really great song for me Ron!  glad to hear it

Man, I wasn't expecting it to build like that. Nicely done, especially after that gentle opening. great blend with the dynamics here. That time during the song flew by. Nice ending as well.

Cool post.

Hook

Had me from that super fine intro & just continued to build into a wonderful song. A little bit of a Bad Company feel, really dig it brother.
Rock on!

Because the Hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely

Gorgeous sounds in here.
Love how it builds.
And that finger-picking it builds from, and comes back to, is very sweet.

The song is my sort of listening.
It's making me want to listen to some Gregg Allman.

   All that I need
Is just a piece of paper
To say a few lines
Make up my mind
So she can read it later

Wow! What a song Ron! Everything from the 12 string to the electric guitar that pops up to the lyrics and vocals.... everything is great here. The dynamics are perfect, I knew knowing you the track would build to something epic but man, this song knocks it out of the park. Love it!

This is a great song, Ron. Lyrics, production, performance -all is just stellar. Those acoustic guitars sound so sweet and masterfully played.
