I really needed this song these past days... my mind has been in a real dumper... got into it with the Mrs. (mostly my fault defending the male in the male vs female battle that rages on since time began)... the message here is exactly what I need to remember... Everything on this planet is not peaches and cream and sometimes it just really hurts in my emotion and there is no explanation...no evalutating, no counseling, no drugs, no alcohol gonna fix it...nothing fixes it...it's just there under that surface... I spent my life burying it... and sometimes the shit just comes to the surface... I have faith in God and that don't fix it either...sometimes it just hurts...so I did what I do... pick up the dang guitar and blow the doors off the house...

I used to be lonely till I learned about livin' alone
I found other things to keep my mind on
And I'm gettin' to know myself a little bit better
Whoa, I keep pushin' on, I keep pushin' on, yeah
Goin' through all the changes I made so many mistakes, oh yes I did
Tryin' to leave behind the heartaches
And sometimes I think I was a little bit crazy, oh yeah
Whoa, I keep pushin' on
Keep pushin' on
(Keep pushin', keep pushin', keep pushin')
You know you have got to be so strong
(Keep pushin', keep pushin', keep pushin')
Well even if you think, your strength is gone
(Keep pushin', keep pushin')
Keep pushin' on, yeah
Well it's comin' together I finally feel like a man, oh yes I do
I never thought that I'd be where I am, oh
Everyday I wake a little bit higher
Oh I keep pushin' on, oh yeah
Keep pushin' on
(Keep pushin', keep pushin', keep pushin')
You know you have got to, got to, be so strong
(Keep pushin', keep pushin', keep pushin')
Well even if you think, your strength is gone
(Keep pushin', keep pushin')
Keep pushin' on
Cover of REO Speedwagon Keep Pushin.  In memory of the great guitarist Gary Richrath (RIP) 2 vocal tracks copied and panned to allow a small percent of delay to be added to the copied and panned ones.  1 other track with the high vocal.  MXL condenser mic all tracks have auto tune from bandlab.
2 rhythm guitars and 2 leads using the Boss ME-25 and Shecter bass also using ME-25 distorted.  Casio keys one track.  Alesis Nitro drums
I did play along to this from one of the live versions I found and then just built it from there deleting the REO track so this is the pace and key they used exactly... took a lot of hours but it was a great experience.  mixed on bandlab and Audacity and mastered on Landr.
thanks for listening and commenting.

Sometimes you just need to let off some steam and from the sounds of it... You're doing a mighty good job with it (in this song) :)

I really dig this. I agree Sometimes feelings have to just be felt and not anesthetized. They are the great motivator. Kudos

A fine cover Stephen...I always liked this REO song. Great vocal work here...the MXL condenser mic and your voice pairs well together!
Some cool guitar works as well. It's good to release the steam when it builds up...loud music and whalin' on a guitar does wonders for that. Well done!

Nice cover, I especially like the voices very well done
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
