Hello!! My name is Rob Grant. I was informed of this site by Farrell Jackson. He had nothing to say but great things about it. 10 years ago I was very active at another site, but due to a long run of bad luck....computer crashes, lost files, moving, apartment fire, and total discouragement, I finally got the desire to pick up and play again. I am still relearning my recording software and playing. Retirement and COVID sparked me back. This has been very stress relieving and a ton of fun has been restored.
HOPE is me 2nd solo song I have written since this past November 2021. I am nothing more than a music enthusiast and claim no professional abilities. My music is about fun. I hope to meet and greet many and become a regular contributor to the site  :)

well now Hope is one of my 3 favorite things in life.  I am trying each day to live that way.  Also newly retired.  Glad you made it back into music.  It will be a great balm for the soul.  This is a great site.  Some really nice folks.  As you already realize (based on one of your comments I read in another post) there are some fantastic musicians on here...just wait until some of the others start posting again too...
anyway this sounds really nice... I like the ethereal keys and I am big on drums so that is great big sound too here.

Amazing how music can pull you back from darker times, it is such a powerful thing. This is great, captivating. A real powerful melody and built up beautifully in those layers of sound. Really enjoyed the journey.

Nicely produced track, Rob and as Mike says beautiful layers of sound.

Another cool, mellow song. I can hear the Hope floating along in the layered synths. Well done, Rob! You need to warm up your voice and add some vocals to these new songs. I knew you would like this site and its members!

Welcome Rob! A very warm and atmospheric track, very nice use of those synths/keys. A very calming listen and nicely put together so that everything sits well in the mix and there's good clarity throughout. A nice way to start the day  :)

Welcome Rob!

Cool track.

The covid and lockdown in 2020 got me going again. 2021 not so much, at least not for output... (I got stalled end of 2020, and then I was learning new recording set-up, still learning now, concentrating on mastering my old recordings until the last few days).

Yep, this site and the folks here is excellent. I'm one of the members that drop in and out as the muse takes me ;D ... and the place is always here when I return!

Yep, second listen, very cool track - I can hear and feel hope.
Farrell says you sing too? Yep, get that voice warmed up!!!

Well it sounds really cool to me.  Welcome to the site.  I'm a sometime songcrafter dude for a while who got distracted for a while from making songs and is back now.

I am a big fan of making these big multi track things in my DAW, and I bought a boatload of synth plugins just to get at lots of fun sounds like this.

Which ones did you use for this?

Cheers from British COlumbia Canada.

Warp Canada...Thanks for listening???? I use ABLETON LIVE 11. It came with a lot of instruments and effects. I use a Line 6 UX2 for my guitar, bass, and cheap Yamaha keyboard, and vocals...when I do them. I use the Line 6 Pod Farm 2.5 software for my amp modelers. I also use EZ Drummer 2 software for drums. I'm really not a keyboard player, I know a few chords and just fool around with it. Most of my strings and choirs I do on keyboard. Any horns, woodwinds, and synths I do midi programming in Ableton. As for mixing and mastering, I'm partially deaf, so I use headphones and tend to have more high end, which probably sucks. BUT!! The whole music thing is about fun and I'm just hobby musician????
