I wasn't an angry young man
It was much later when the anger came
I remember a smile, genuine & true
Optimism fell like rain
I think I lived for the moment
Perhaps I often lived way too hard
But the troubles & lessons I have learned
Inspired this modern bard

F. G. C. Em. F.
C. F. C. Dm
Em. F. Fm C
I've changed some of the names
Doubled most of the pain
Turned fact into fiction
Used all my fancy diction
(Rinsed & repeated
Revived & deleted )
Till I've said what I think
You think
I want you to think

Bflat F. Bflat. Dm
Am Dm. Bflat.
I've dug deep this well
Of hurt and despair
Now The soil is rocky
& I've only this plastic shovel and Pail

Some mellow with age
For me I'm ignited
At least I think I want justice
Wrongs to be rightened
Truths to be told
And wisdom to be headed
But we're knee deep and soiled
From the bullshit that's repeated

Because the Hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely

This is a fantabulous song Hook! The lyrics sound retrospective, genuine, with a bit of despair, but with hope for the future...well done on those! Your vocals are sung with conviction and emotion without seeming downtrodden. The Michael Kelly acoustic sounds good, and I can hear how the bass pattern could give you a little trouble, but you did it like a pro! Also, a great bridge section. You've written some very cool songs lately and this is just another example of that.

deep lyrics... good music and singing too.  The Ukes sound amazing as per usual and the bass is really good....your vocals and lyrics are always the star though

Simple folktune? Have you actually ever done such a thing? There's too much personality and character to your songs and the way you handle them that they're always deeper and more clever. Good use of Uke and the vocals really shine (again) here!
