I thought about calling this "Don't (Wake) Me Up (Man)" or perhaps "H(ELP)" but I decided best not to blaspheme good names.  so I went with what this song is which is an instrumental that is sort of Prog but kind of with a frog in it's throat so it is Phrog.  Also this has sort of elements of elevator music so i went with the title "Phrog On The Elevator (Part II).  There are actually 3 parts but I will not likely ever post III.  But maybe Part I later...not sure.
Sorry for the long explanation but I spent days doing and redoing this.  Played so much bass and had so much fun the next day, doing this part I had to play with a pick (due to start of blisters on right hand), which as Ferryman say's is perfectly acceptable.
I'm currently addicted to keyboards.  I suppose that I have exhausted most of the possibilities I can find on the guitar so now I find a new field to plow and hopefully one day reap from.  Currently I am retired and really don't want to do anything all day long but play music and with music files and record.  I am reaching for big things and while I miss the mark I aim for it is fun reaching for it.
I originally made a mistake and kept the track I was playing along to for 6:30 seconds so I did that bass that long and then added keyboards (that was on part 1) on this one I started with the keyboards to same track and then played bass to it.  I did alot of editing to get this down to 4:30 but I recorded and mixed on the zoom...all 6 keyboard tracks, Alesis drums, Shecter bass (DI'd into board this bass has active eq so it is hot), one Les Paul track with sitar sort of effect ( I erased the track I played along to start).  Hope you find it interesting.
cut up the orig on bandlab to reduce and spliced back together digitally of course...mastered on Landr.

you can call me anything you like.  Just don't call me late for dinner

I dig this brother, very experimental and an improv heavy sound. Kind of Grateful Dead meets the doors with a dash of Tull...very cool.
Rock on brother!

Ha the bass makes my monitors bounce, lol! This sounds very improvisational...sort of organized chaos. You are a real musical work horse Stephen. I never know what to expect when I click on your songs except that they will be good and enjoyable. This is a great experiment!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Very interesting work, Stephen. At times it sounds chaotic at other times perfectly controlled. Love the syncopation and especially those bass lines. You are very eclectic in your styles of music.

Wow, that's really interesting, very listenable and quite unexpected. There's so much going on, I can understand that it took days to put this together. One cool instrumental !

Cool! I envisioned it a score on a road-trip video through many different environments with the vibe contrasts changing appropriately with the scenes. Very creative piece! 8) BTW, I can't play bass without a pick! I use the rubber ones to reduce pick noise. They work great!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

What's happening here? Did i just eat the yellow snow? The track starts in a fairly understandable manner and then evolves into EVERYTHING! I dig those keyboards things you're doing and the proggy feel you have going here with the bass and drums.  The drumming is at times incredibly trippy and cool. And the thing that's most surprising here is that as soon as the ears (and brain) get adjusted to this constant barrage of melodies it all makes sense! I would be betting my third arm (a safe bet :D) that you haven't EVER heard about Italian soundtrack - progressive rock band Goblin, but at times this song reminded me of them.

This is what creativity without boundaries sounds like.

Really good prog rock! I love the dialogue with various keyboards. Nice work on bass and drums (I have Alesis Lite, but haven't time to learn play them, maybe when I'll get retired :).

You're an excellent multi-instrumentalist, Stephen!
