this was inspired by black box (digitech trio).  I recorded something that reminded me of this.  I scrapped it and spent 2 days trying to get this bigger and better.  I messed up the transition at about a minute but decided to call it endearing.  As bad as it is it sounds cool.  3 guitar tracks including the lead with the les paul through the ME-25.  Shecter bass and Alesis drums.  I put forth a big effort especially in mixing this.  It's not even close to the actual but it was alot of fun.  Kind of reminds me of hints of SAGA (another Canadian favorite).  You should have seen me trying to learn keyboard parts for this.  Sort of like a monkey trying to get a peanut from a candy machine.  lol.
Wheel within wheels in a spiral array
A pattern so grand and complex
Time after time we lose sight of the way
Our causes can't see their effects
We've taken care of everything
The words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
We are the priests of the temples of syrinx
Our great computers fill the hollowed halls
We are the priests of the temples of syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within these walls
Wave after wave will flow with the tide
And bury the world as it does
Tide after tide will flow and recede
Leaving life to go on as it was
Wheel within wheels in a spiral array
A pattern so grand and complex
Time after time we lose sight of the way
Our causes can't see their effects

Love me some Rush. "Natural Science" is a one of my favs. Kudos for tackling the epics. I've been trying to get John to open one our acoustic shows with 2112's "Discovery." I even edited down 2112 to just the acoustic bits. I would love to attempt that one day live.

Nice post. I like the cut of your jib.

Kudos to you Stephen for tackling such a complicated medley! No need for any excuses here because you've done yourself proudly. To borrow a term from Hook's book..."Rush On!"

Loving The ''Rush''

Excellent collection of Rush snippets. Thank you.

Great culmination of the two songs. The drumming especially stands out here, love the lead and vocals too!
