First I want to thank 64guitars for the help. I really appresciate it.

Ok here it is! My cover of Cortez the Killer...and I put VOX on it! Yes this is a first! LOL

The song is like 7:30, I cut to just under 5:00
As always, everything is done through MBR and Epi LP Special II and Squier PBass.
The mike was the on board and I had a hard time adjusting it may clip.

Hope you like it! :)

Think I'll Tack some REO LOL!

Great stuff, your vocals sound pretty good and could do with being higher in the mix - don't be afraid of them! Great lead work and overall a really good recording and version of the song. I just found the drums a tad loud though for my liking, but nothing major.

Cheers,

Nigel

Another beauty from my favorite NY album!! Wicked guitar work and great leads. For a first time on the vocals, that was fantastic!! You have a good voice, and I agree /w Nigel that you should make them a little stronger in the mix, possibly a little less reverb.

Excellent, excellent job!!

See you around,

Mark

Nice job, Les and good to see you back to the forum.  I like the way the guitars are working together and good job on the drum programming and vocal.

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Thanks everyone. The whole singing thing was crazy. I used the onboard lol had no Idea what settings to use, how far tol hold it away. I don't sound at all what  hear LOL. Have to practice.

Awsome, epic, inspired, wonderful..........Great job LestG, I really like the way your guitars sound, laidback and grooving.  Great vocal, you have nothing to hide in that department.  Just a great all around job.  Good one for the Neilfest.  Whoa that middle/end solo is killer stuff!!!!!! I say you nailed this.  Long live Neil Young!!!!!

When you say vocals "higher in the mix" are you meaning louder?

Question to 64guitars, if I want to "back track" on the orginal  bounced tracks I could go name them and delete what I wanted or change what I need as long as I specify the track and then rebounce it?
