Lowering mp3 trainer volume(?)

Hi all... first post here.  I'm finding the level on the mp3s I'm playing along with a little high.  I've resorted to recording the songs via line-in onto a couple of tracks and manipulating the level that way, but it's a bit of a cumbersome solution.  Am I missing something obvious?  Other solutions?
Cheers, Craig.

I assume you mean the MP3s you have imported into your MBR?
With the out volume wheel (on the left) you can turn the volume down and with the in volume wheel you can adjust your instrument up or down...
hope this helps cos I could be missing the point (I often do ;D)

Hi neatnik - I have experienced the same issue - I think what 48 said is the only way to do it without importing to a track. However, although still cumbersome you can do what you did without using line in:

utility|track(then cursor to the right one)|IMP|Select the mp3|import to two tracks using value (12 or 34). Then pan the two tracks and set the levels.

Its still cumbersome but you only need the MBR to get the job done. Edit You are still better off importing than recording because an import only takes 2-3 seconds instead of the entire length of the song.

Hopefully someone knows a better way?

What about adjusting the input line level sensitivity so it doesnt say "over"?
Or reducing the volume of the device youre recording from?
Just seems like the simplest easiest solution.

Thanks guys.  I've tried raising the sensitivity on my guitar to compete with the song (imported mp3) I'm trying to learn.  However it's a bass I'm playing, which lacks the attack of a six-string.  Sometimes I feel I need to drop the mp3 song level down even further to properly hear what I'm playing against it.
Importing the mp3 in as a track rather than recording it is something I hadn't considered... I'll give that a go.  Much quicker.
Don't know about you guys, but it seems a bit of a design oversight not to be able to fully adjust the volume of an imported mp3 against an accompanying instrument... without occupying a recording track.
Cheers, Craig.

I use it for practicing against MP3's a lot and agree it' often a problem. I sometimes modify an effect to pump the volume..
