Here's a new one for you. Steve sent me a great track for collab a while back.

I struggled a bit coming up with a vocal melody so I did the "easy" bit first. I stuck down a rhythm guitar track to match up with Steve's. I played a similar but slightly different rhythm to Steve. It has a frantic pace so I was pleased that after a bit of practice I put down a part I thought was pretty ok. Next up I twiddled about playing random lead over the top. It too has a frantic, slightly craziness to it that I thought suited the song. Then I revisited the vocals, I had been thinking about them in the meantime, changing the metre a bit and also the lyrics slightly.

And here we go... a nod to Steve's original track, rip roaring rock tune and I do love the Bass in there too Steve.

They got you down on your knees
Down eating up from that floor
They got you crawling around
Got you livin, living in a trash can

You're just living'
Just living the easy life
You will find out for yourself
Black is black and white is white
Black is black and white is white

They took away your soul
They took away your pride
You let them chew you up
And spit you out on the roadside

They got you chasin' your tail
They got you eatin' that humble pie
They got you saying things you don't mean
They got you saying the truth is a lie

——————————

You been paying the price
For some things that you didn't do
Now you're marking time
For a life that you didn't live

fantastic work Mike.  I really like the lyrics and the vocals... the backing vocals as well.. you added a ton of energy to a track that had a ton of energy.
Lead guitar is fabulous.  I like playing bass alot.  I think probably it's my best instrument.  I sometimes try to play like a lead guitar sort of.  For me though I was always blown away by Paul McCartney.  He could play harmonies on the bass while singing lead and harmony.

I don't think I could have touched what you did with this Mike...rocking goodness... thanks for doing this Mike!

I also remember now I was trying to get toward a sound and style like Aerosmith used on their first album.  It was raw and raucous and interesting as all heck.

That vocal sound! There's that touch of Lynott. The playing is groovy and the bassline never lets up. The guitar riffing reminded me slightly of Ace Frehley at times. Cool lyrics also.
Inspiring!

What a great jamming guys! Fine job with guitars and this has good live feel, perhaps it comes from drums.
