I guess this song is about those older women of the wartime generation..like my grandparents generation, who have now sadly passed away. There's not many of them left now i think, but they had certain traditions that you don't often see nowadays.

I obviously wrote it a bit tongue in cheek, but a lot of them were kind of stuck in the past i thought at the time when i was younger. but now I'm a bit older i start to think we all are slightly "stuck in the past" to some degree, looking back fondly at the good old days :)
Thanks for listening.  Darren and Keith. ( I had to lower the quality a bit to make file size fit).

Lyrics

Oh Ada and Flo..
They like a gossip on the bus as they go...to bingo
They're always talking 'bout their neighbours...you know
Well that's so Ada and Flo

Ada and Flo..
They worked in a factory 'til they was told... to go
For 60 years living in the same old council- bungalow
Now there's nothing to show.

CHORUS
They live in a time warp.
Back in 1945
With good old Winston Churchill and... King George...
Who they wish was still alive.

Ada and Flo..
Take a little trip to Blackpool , it's the only place they go
'Cos they've saved up all their money - just to sit in a row
Playing dirty fruit machines at the...dirty casino

Ada and Flo..
They got their blue rinses, they both like to sew
Go ball room dancing every week
With Arthur and Joe
They love their tea and crumpet you know,

REPEAT CHORUS

Ada and Flo..
Grew up together but they now both die alone
Nobody came to say any goodbye's at their funeral home

So it's good-bye from Ada and Flo...Goodbye Ada and Flo...Goodbye Ada and Flo
We wish you well Ada and Flo

This is just great, Darren. Fabulous lyrics and brill production. Keith's vocal as always is spot on giving that lovely Beatles vibe, reminiscent of Abbey Road. Also some fine guitar work going on here; all in all a fantastic track. Well done the pair of you.

I just loved this to pieces. Great music, informed by the 60's, and a killer performance all the way around. Wonderfully jaunty (when they died, not so much).

Great post.

Fantastic song with very much of that late 60's vibe. I love the lyrics - they're a dying breed now but there used to be a lot of old ladies like that in my town. Back in the day, all the factories would be closed for a week and half the town would go on holiday to Blackpool.

Thanks for the lyrics
it's a beautiful song with a story that inevitably reminds the Beatles, as all the commentators have noticed

it's amazing this quality of everything
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Seriously great stuff! The song draws the listener into it from the get go, but it was at the chorus that really sells it. The small melodies that are used to pepper the arrangement are cool. The backing vocals really add that "Beatles" -vibe to it. Overall it's a classic pop rock of sorts. Build on tradition and served well! I also really like the source of the lyrics :) And that outro!

This will be one of (well actually second already ;)) many listens. Thanks for this!

I really dug it. Can relate to how our pasts play a part in how we live today. This is an enjoyable listen and the concept is rather unique.

Very nice Darren and Keith! The lyrics and story are something like Paul would write (a compliment) and the melody and music are both fab! I like it...well done!

Ada & Flo remind me of so many of my relatives/neighbours from when I was a rug-rat in the 60's. Brilliant and highly entertaining stuff.
