I haven't written anything new lately worth a recording project but have had some fun (and practice) messin' around with this one for the past few days. The two electric guitars are a Gretsch Streamliner and a Telecaster.  I was surprised when going back to study the 1964 recording by The Searchers, that there was no 12-string on that song, just 2 jangly 6-string electric guitars.

These days I just dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

You've done a great job on this cover Hooper! I'd forgotten what a great song this is. I like the sound of the two electrics and you're right, they do sound like a jangly twelve string. Excellent vocals and the heavy reverb/delay effect is right on for that era...well done!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

A classic, and seriously full of jangle - I love it! Excellent vocals as always, and a great period-authentic production overall. I didn't know there was no 12 string on The Searchers' version!

This was one of those foundational songs for me - I first heard it around the time I started looking for early Byrds albums (about when I got "serious" about playing guitar), and this is full of those wonderful suspended 4ths and 2nds that I love so much. I didn't know at that time that the song was actually co-written by Sonny Bono!

Top-notch cover, hooper!

Sounds great, I have to go with Cuthbert... it's a very authentic 60's sound you got... everything, the guitars, the vocals and even the vocals. Great take on a classic song.

Tasteful and very much in the 60's style. You're really good at evoking the sounds and feel of that era. This was outta sight!

First off Great cover and playing but the icing on the cake is your vocals you have hit it perfectly right down to the reverb of the time
Well done brother

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Super impressive as per your usual. As others have said, I'm in awe of how well you place the production in another era so seemingly effortlessly. The vocals just blow me away on this.

I loved this song as a kid (aged 9!) and you did a superb job here. Brilliant playing and vocals, superbly arranged and absolutely sublime production. Loved it!
