Yesterday i had this itch i wanted to scratch. To do something in the 90's style and with older gear. I used Yamaha RMX1 and made a short loop. Then i hit record and did everything on one take so the lyrics are 100% made up on the spot. And it shows. When i did this it was already late (i did this between 01:00-01:30) so everything was rushed. Still managed to get a few lines in...

(* there's this short sound in the background at this point which is one of my dogs barking in her sleep. This is the third time our dogs are featured in these recordings. I guess the word i was going for was either barking or snoring, but i wasn't fast enough with my thought process at that time

I'm going to remove this later and see if it's worth pursuing further. I just wanted to post this here because i ended up name checking one Songcrafter

and in hopes this might spark some inspiration in others to just hit the RECORD button.

Edit: I kept the original vocals and all the tracks from the first version and build it into a "real song". The keyboard sound + part of the drums are from Yamaha RMX1. All the other sounds are from free VSTi synths. The drum tracks are programmed with a combination of DMX and Casio drum samples.

Unbelievable! - a half hour to produce an entire totally respectable song? Takes me a month just to make a "super rough demo" with for-real throw-away lyrics!

Yeah, a little rough but much better than a lot of fully polished turds some (including me) are putting out! I dig it!

Pretty funny. I think Stephen M is naturally high. That's the only high for me as well- and coffee of course

You have such great style man.....even a rush job like this is spectacular.....reminds me of something from Arcade Fire 2nd album...Neon Bible.....great fun
