Need Compressor settings advice

This looks like a group of very knowledgable folk...Glad I found the site...What is a good starting point for compressor settings for vocals...and should I use the compressor while recording or wait for the mastering?

If you scroll half-way down this page, you'll find some excellent information on setting a compressor for vocals for tracking or mastering....

I'm sure there's alot more information in other articles of this website.  I just happened to find that one to be great for doing vocals...
