Let's Do It Right
(V1) Oh if love is water and love is food
That's how I feel about loving you
Let's follow this road to see where it goes
And find some time to feed our souls
So, take my hand forget about vices
Let's help each other through this summer crisis
(Chr) If we're gonna fall in love, let's do it right
Time to get started, not a dark cloud in sight
No time to waste in this crazy life
If we're gonna fall in love, let's do it right
 (V2) Love's not hiding, it's easily found
There's enough feelings to go around
Birds will sing, the world will be right
When we look into each other's eyes
(Chr) If we're gonna fall in love, let's do it right
Time to get started, not a dark loud in sight
No time to waste in this crazy life
If we're gonna fall in love, let's do it right
(solo bass/drums break down)
(guitar solo)
(outro) Fallin' in love, doin' it right
There's not dark cloud, in sight
One look into your lovin', eyes
Fallin' in love, doin' it right

Thanks Stephen! Do you think the bass is too loud in the mix? I went back and forth on the bass volume before I settle here but I'm still unsure...what do you (or anybody else) think?

I went back and listened to the original because I had already downloaded it....so I kind of compared the two... For me I like the first one better because when the bass and the low drum strike you can feel it thump your chest and that is tight as heck for me... I put these on my monitors at around 82 decibels where I was listening and there is a difference for sure....
I think a little of what you might be not liking isn't so much the low end.... I am starting to find that often I don't pay enough attention to gain staging during recording and mixing...I have been reading alot about this and I can hear it when I drive above -6db or so during these stages  can cause a bit of overcompression... but you record and mix alot more than I do and have for a lot longer so I am not certain... You were the one that got me into Landr....and I can tell you when I record and mix tracks right the Landr makes a MASSIVE improvement in the finished song..so thanks for that!!!!
I noticed too that Landr has a lot of recording tips ...I have been trying to read some and apply ...  I am sure however that I am very much a novice after listening to so many other great recordings...

Blooby

Nice poppy rocker. Man, I love that harp blowing. Mix sounds great to me.

Blooby

Hi Farrell, excellent musicianship as always, I'm with Blooby a fine rocky/poppy song. I to like a fairly heavy bottom end but have trouble cutting out the boominess. Mind you, my ears are pretty shot away as it is and I have more trouble hearing the top end. Too many years standing next to a heavy handed drummer with Zildjan cymbals. Great upload.

excellent song brother  and while no expert by a long means what I have found is either the drums bury the bass or vice versa Last few recordings I have been putting what they say is 12k shine to the percussion boosting the 12k range makes the drums sit in another level and sets it apart from the bass Freq. This  makes it stand out more without adding volume.  This is easier for me to do with head phone mixing turn the knobs, sounds good, sounds better, Sounds worse, then back the knob till it is back to better.
Love the energy of this song

The perfect foot tapping rocker, a big well done !

Pete C

Great bluesy rocker of a song ! I thik the mix is perfect - I like to hear the bass coming through and loved the bass solo part before the excellent guitar solo.
