Fairly true to the original. Which may be very monotonous to some, lol. It's such a strange one: a love song to a blow-up doll  ;D

Hofner Verythin guitar + various effects (delay, reverb, univibe, various light and heavy drives), Ibanez bass, and GB drums (eventually).

Excellent cover Tim ! It is a strange song and an unusual subject - I find some of their early songs a bit theatrical in a way. You've done a great job with it !

well, now that you have described this I am going to have to pull the lyrics....although I can understand them quite well....
lol..
I love the sound of the guitar...it almost sounds like an electric piano...the lead and change of pace that comes in around 3:00 is awesome... and your vocals are stellar...

Dreamy and brooding. For some reason the sudden change into a full band backing is more bombastic in your version than in the original. Which is cool!

If Ferry did this song today... Instead of blow-up doll he'd be singing about fleshlight due inflation.

Really like this Tim.  Love the edgy arty feel to it and when the full band comes in near three minutes it's proper awesome.

Don't know the original but it's right up my street -  feel I've really missed out on so much by not engaging with Roxy Music and their members' work.

Great to hear this, you did so well. Love the first part but the second section is an absolute killer, you really did it justice. Superb sounds, great guitars and a fab performance all round. Love the vocal throughout.

This is a particular fave of mine, my band used to do an apocalyptic goth'd up version of this as set closer in the early 80s. I even have a video of us doing it on VHS tape. Happy days.

I think I know the original, but a long time since I heard it. This is great, and the opening section not in the least monotonous, the repeating nature of the melody adding to the strangeness in the lyrics. So well done on the vocal and it is true that second section is through the roof. Bloody great.
