I've had a skinful of existence
all that I can take
it's been a hard day's night
and i need a break
tunnelling out like the great escape

but I've got a shirt
like the kitschiest wallpaper
hollywood shades
that don't do me no favours

fogbound on the way to shangri-la
stuck and lost in statis
inside the airport bar
drinking doubles on the rocks and seeing stars
what a way to spend a holiday!

get your freak on
in the hall of mirrors
clowns surround me
and they're all killers
give me a moment - I need to lean against this pillar

but I've got a shirt
like the kitschiest wallpaper
hollywood shades
that don't do me no favours

fogbound on the way to shangri-la
stuck and lost in statis
inside the airport bar
drinking doubles on the rocks and seeing stars
what a way to spend a holiday!

'cause wherever I go
there'll be tidal waves and landslides
volcanoes or snow
and unexploded landmines

fogbound on the way to shangri-la
stuck and lost in statis
inside the airport bar
drinking doubles on the rocks and seeing stars
what a way to spend a holiday!

First off, the 12 string and the mellotron both add a cool vibe with their familiar sounds...love that! Your words, melody and vocals make me envious....and that's a good thing, lol! Well done on your Greeny Monday!

while this is an excellent song musically imho...it's lyrically superior!  Such great imagery!  And a couple of interesting cliches (not cliche but the allusion to the Beatles song is great).
then the surrounded by clowns and they are killers... and watching stars in the airport...
I don't know what your inspiration is but it's marvelous...and you more or less tell the story with how many of us humans deal with life as we don't understand it...
another great song Tim...

Very cool. Very original. The melotron.!  Terrific. Nice job with the piano and organ. 2 of my favorite flavors. I hear the Lennon influence as well. Another great work Tim

This song is pure ear candy! The lyrics are great and i was already drawn into the song... and then BAM! came the extra instrumentation and the lovely melodies! At the sametime the song manages to play with being understated and then very melodically rich. I kinda hate mondays, but these Greeny originals make them easier :)

Brilliant track once again Greeny! I'm amazed at the volume of tracks you are able push out in a short amount of time, all high quality and this one is no exception. I love the mellotron and the chorus is a knock out. The lyrics are so brilliant too, I especially love the little bridge about unexploded land mines. Job well done Mr. Green!
