Story fest

this is a conversation I had with myself some years ago after owning some fast cars and a motorcycle.  I have known many who have died in these incidents of insanity.  I have read many stories about folks, mostly men, from all walks of life who get involved in driving crazy and die or worse yet, take others with them...
The drumming on here really took me a lot of practice to even come close to where they sounded good...it's just so fast.  I ended up setting up a double bass thing using my high hat pedal as one activator....I am going to get another kick pedal for my drums after this...
I recorded the main music tracks and mixed them on the BR1600CD and then transferred them to the Zoom where I recorded vocals in my truck cab....then I took the tracks to bandlab and mixed them... I ended up using graphic eq, chorus and reverb on the vocals (2 tracks)...
400 horses under my hood.  I'm racing close to death, that's understood.  Shifting gears, pedal to the floor.  One wrong move and I'm outta here.  My car is fast, that's for sure.
Street racer, frantic pacer.  Make a deal with the undertaker
you'll be the parade in the hearse.

you'll be the parade in the hearse.
We think we're immune, that that sudden impactful doom.
Won't happen to us.  Squished like a bug.
Now there's too many in long line gone.  Too many in a long line gone.
Squished like a bug.
Motorcycle man beware!  Your face be splashed everywhere.  You think that helmet's gonna protect you?
When you slam your head into that truck?  Your a f'ing idiot.  I seen too many die.  If I can say something now to get your attention then I will.

ooh, it's your day, your big day.  You got your name in the paper.  It's your one day of glory.  Everybody said it was kind of gory.  He's gone.  They peeled his face off a tree.  He said, "it won't happen to me.  BS.  Even people who drive good get hit.

Great song and story line, I agree too many people have fatal car accidents.
You did really good on the drums as you mentioned they are pretty fast , the intro remaindered me a bit of Motorhead ..
Great work

A good friend of mine is a retired motocross racer. He would tell some free crazy stories. He takes things at a slower pace now he only plays hockey. Lol
I got that motorhead vibe from this  too. Those lyrics are sharp tongue. A good driving sound. Fits perfectly. Your drumming keeps getting better and better

Love the undertaker in the parade with the hearse part.  Sounds like it would be a good soundtrack for a video game.

Like 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' meets Iron Maiden, lol. The frantic pace definitely conveys speed and danger. Your drumming is incredible and the guitars are superbly handled. That 'you'll be the parade in the hearse' line is brilliant - really digging that. Brilliant stuff!

Great song and I really love what you did with the mix everything in its place and best of all the vocal is right up front.  Most people when they are recording them self tend to bury the vocals Loving it great song brother

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

My thought exactly. Badass brother, some rocking drumming.

Another great song from the wild and vivid imagination of StephenM! The driving guitars have that Motörhead vibe going, but the way you've mixed and performed the song makes me also to think of Primus! Instead of just singing the song you're kinda getting inside the person you're singing about. Some of the vocal phrasing reminded me of Judas Priest yet the more straight rock'n'roll licks kept the song from crossing over into Metal Zone!

I love the frantic, almost thrash metal pace of this. Fits very well with the subject matter. All that wall guitars nearly puts me in a trance. Cool lyrics too; in pure metal fashion, it serves more as a warning than an endorsement. Like if Black Sabbath were car enthusiasts...
