when I was a teenager in the 60's, before the invasion of the Beatles and other English bands, my idols were Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley (as well as a certain Macca..)
My tribute to Buddy Holly
Guitars and vocals JP, paino, bass Drums the guys from BIAB

This version is a bit "dirty", not clean like the record version of Buddy Holly, closer to the version of a certain group of young people who should go far ... "THE QUARRYMEN"  ;D
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

awesome cover JP...it feels a bit faster than Buddy Holly's but I like it very much...and your vocals are great...the music as well.

when I listen to Buddy Holly I realize he was actually new wave 20 years before new wave.

Liking this version a lot JP, a lot of energy but still true to the original. The "dirty" version works well for me!

Greeny

I like the dirty, Beatles-live-in-the-cavern feel! Really cool. Love the vocal on this one especially. Excellent!

Geir

thanks guys ...I tried to use ABBEY ROAD waves plug ins, which are excellent

Ah yes, for the young people of the new generation ..the QUARRY MEN were ..the original BEATTLES in 1958 (I didn't even know how to make a chord on the guitar, and many of you weren't born yet ;D

I love this. Such a classic Buddy Holly track and this raved up, "live in Hamburg" feel really does it well. I love that slap back on the lead vocal...

This is a great driving cover version! There's certainly that "Hamburg" feel to it. Edgy yet true to source.
