This is one of my crazy songs.  It is a satire of various things and likely a little humor as well... it's kind of the makings of a scattered brain with lots of ideas floating around in there... when i finished the rhythm tracks i thought it had a bit of southern rock style, sort of like 38 Special or something but I took the lyrics and vocals in a totally different direction...I asked Mike to do lead guitar and he did two tracks panned into the left and the right...
I've been into my Les Paul again lately and the BR 1600 patches... I find many interesting already made sounds you just have to dial up and strum away...that is cool for me because I'm not much of a knob fiddler.
Thanks Mike for helping again with this...
Like Elmer Fudd, you're slingin mud, always tryin to to kill my rabbit.  What do you have against us?  Bugs Bunny is my friend, you can't have or his carrot.  For that matter, you can't rule me man.
You think you're king, a royal despot.  You got big guns and girls like that.  you got big money, you like to bribe.  your leadership is death to us peasants.
Please Mr. Potato King can we have just one potato?  Please Mr. Potato King, can you spare from your billion pile?
Please Mr. Potato King can you sell us an avocado?  Yes, you will at skyrocking price.
You think you're king, a royal despot.  You got big guns and girls like that.  you got big money, you like to bribe.  your leadership is death to us peasants.
Please Mr. Rice King, can we have a little rice?
Please Mr. Rice King, your bins are overflowing.
Please Mr. Rice King, can you sell us a little rice?
yes you will at skyrocketing price.
I just wanna carrot, for my silly rabbit.
I just wanna carrot, for my silly rabbit.
You're trying to kill Bugs Bunny.
You're trying to kill Bugs Bunny.
You're trying to kill Bugs Bunny.
that ain't funny!

Like Elmer Fudd... What an opening line :) This is high-spirited song and there's that 90's alternative vibe to it. The lyrics are wacky in a good way.

"I'm not much of a knob fiddler" ? :D That should be a song too... :)

Stephen asked me to add to this track. At first I thought, oh this sounds pretty full and complete but on another couple of listens I thought maybe there is space for some guitar as that is what a lot of Stephen's tracks are about, lots of elements, busy and fun. Anyway the track is very cool. For me the best part is the lyrics, they are fun but with a deeper message in there. Again a bit like one of Stephens other recent tracks there was a line that stuck in my head for a day or two. So I've been singing "You're trying to kill Bugs Bunny" around the house now for a while! :)

The lyric could also be seen as profound. Lots of very cool lines that open up other thoughts and meaning. Love the crunch of the guitars, and the falsetto backing vox are very effective. Assuming this is a Strat & Les Paul combo / duet, and it sounds fantastic. Winner!

Yes, very relevant to what's happening to our economy. I get it.  Damn good song Steve. Mike's adds are terrific too. They give it a nice melodic hook. Gonna have a listen again on the big speakers, but sounded great on the iPad.
Good job you guys

Such a fun song! It's like a very off the wall Lou Reed solo song (perhaps that's stretching it, but seriously; how do you come up with such zany and brilliant lyrics? :D). Excellent contributions from Mike too, sounds like he put a lot of thought into those melodic guitar lines all throughout. This ones a winner.

I immediately thought Lou Reed as well. Great tune with several lyrical gems. Great performance as well.

Very cool song guys. The music is great and right up my street.
Great guitars and some great lead work by mike.
I always like your lyrics and the way you sing.
It has a nice indie//punk vibe too.
