This is the second part of Chaotic World.. When I did Part 1, I was creating a song regarding human kind having to search for other planets to live on as the Earth was disintegrating .. but it was going to be too long for 1 song, so I decided to split it into 3 parts. In hindsight I should have planned the story line better I think I would have got better results.. it's a learning experience.  :D
So here's part 2 . .. (The Departure from earth) .

Lyrics:
We are leaving today
Leaving for better days
Worried about the future
As the earth disintegrate
Warning signs were all over
But no one was listening
Looking over from the window
Where the blue planet used to be
We hope to find life
In another galaxy
But only time will tell
If this trip will end well

Any feedback is appreciated ..
Thanks and have a great day ..eh!

This is very cinematic and interesting. The beginning of this song had a "Terminator" -type of post apocalyptic vibe. Then the song turns into something gentler and goes into the storytelling mode. The brooding synth sounds (cello?) and acoustic guitars work nicely together with the soft vocals. The lead guitar playing is also handled well. This is very much the kind of songs that needs to be listened with eyes closed.

Those were my very first thoughts as well. Well done. It reminds me a bit of John Anderson and Yes. I think the song kicks off the story telling fest brilliantly. A good headphones listen. Nice job

this thing soars at about the 1 min mark...and you know that I dig your music a bunch....interesting lyrical content.
the 3 part thing is a good idea...why not?
I am sure if you do something like this again it will go better but I find that some of the songs I write that I like the least turn out to be my best...lol...

Hints of Steven Wilson here. Loved it. I respect that there is no rush musically. Things unfold in a pleasing way. Great performance and production. What was the synth?

Thanks for the feedback .. The synth sound is from Spitfire Audio LABS plugin .
Yes I really like Steven Wilson's work , specially when he was with Porcupine Tree, really good Prog rock band, it's too bad they are not together as a band anymore , would have loved to see them in concert.

Have a good day

This would work for the story telling fest for sure. Just add the fest icon to your song post if you wanted to go that route. Great song/song section though. I am into my prog and so this automatically appeals to me. Your voice is great very suitable for the atmosphere. The whole thing flows well and I was happy to go on listening for as long as it lasted... but then it stopped :(  but a great piece.

Yes, once I finish Part 3, I will post it in Story Fest .. I started working on Part 3 but I wanted it to be a bit different from Part 1 and 2, a bit more heavy guitars in it .. but so far nothing is working well , I will keep on trying chord progressions until I find something suitable ..

Have a good evening .. eh!

DarrenG / The Devil's Toupee

This is a great track and the music alone would make an excellent soundtrack to a sci fi film. It did have a similar style to terminator and the blade runner films. I love doing those soundtrack projects too.
Great idea to make it into a story and a trilogy.

Cinematic, great sounds, lovely guitar work. You are turning into the new Jeff Wayne and this is veering well into prog rock concept album territory. Which is all good in my book!  ;D
