Mike sent me this track and to be honest I thought I might try something on this in a week or so.  I had already done the lyrics and singing for that crazy bonkers one and this morning I started intently listening to the music to this and started scribbling lyrics and then I had the house to myself so I started working on singing it.  I am actually quite surprised at my lyrics and singing.. really reaching high for something big here.  Mike's music track took me into a much more place of light... Two stereo vocal tracks with some effects... thanks to Mike for offering me this great track... it is special to me.
Quantifying, purifying, sacred fire.  Mesmerizing, sanctifying, beautifying, splendor.  Quantifying, purifying sacred fire.  Mesmerizing,  sanctifying, beautifying splendor.  you bid me draw near, draw near.
When I look up in the stars I see your flaming eyes.  Your cosmic beauty radiates throughout the night.  I hear your calming reassurance.  The pulse of your spirit guiding me toward your infinity.  You bid me draw near.  (I sense you everywhere).  draw near.
Quantifying sacred fire.  Purifying, mesmerizing splendor.
you are greater than the universe expanses.  You are here, there, everywhere.  your goodness permeates the nethersphere.  I sense you everywhere.  (your love radiates through my soul)   I sense you everywhere.  I sense you everywhere.  you guide my sphere.
purifying sacred fire.  Mesmerizing, sanctifying, purifying splendor.
Will raise me up beyond the darkness.  You remove my fear, your love radiates throughout my soul.  ( Your cosmic beauty radiates throughout the night) I cannot falter, you guide my sphere.  I cannot falter you guide my sphere.
Quantifying, purifying, sacred fire.  Mesmerizing, sanctifying, beautifying, splendor.

So the initial track kind of just flows along ok, but I really didn't know where to take it so I asked Steve to have a go. In fact I sent him two tracks to see if he could do something with one and he ended up kindly adding to both. A great vocal added here from Steve, really took the track to a higher level. It seemed to give the whole song a spiritual deeper meaning which I really loved. Cheers Steve.

You too really work well together. Great backer from Mike and well complemented by Stephen's vocals. Nice work !

Immediately sounded like Michael Stipe and REM to me - both on the vocal and the guitar jangle. There's something very intimate on the vocal that works so well with the backer. Lovely chord changes and guitar work. A winner!

Very atmospheric sound you guys got with just guitar, bass, drums and vocals here. Like Tim said, I hear R.E.M. here but I also thought of CCR with Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips fronting them (perhaps it was the "flaming eyes" that reminded me :D). Wonderful double vocals as always Stephen, I'm always impressed with how well you vocals mesh together, and a great hypnotic jangle from Mike. FAB!

DarrenG / The Devil's Toupee

You two are making some great songs together. Mike's music track was great, really love the happy, jingly, jangly tone. And steve's vocals always remind me of R.E.M too. I like the lyrics you wrote for this too. great mixing and use if fx on track too.  :)

one of the great things with this site is the ability to connect with other musicians and combine ideals you two have been smoking lately and this one did not disappoint
well done
